Robin Lea Watson was born October 27, 1961 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Duane “Red” and Delilah “Demay” Anderson. Her childhood was spent in Spring Lake Park and their family moved to Isanti when Robin was in the 10th grade. Robin’s fondest childhood memories included “going up north” to her aunt and uncle’s farm in Bock, MN. While attending Cambridge High School she enjoyed playing softball and volleyball. She graduated in 1980. On October 4, 1980 she married the love of her life, Jim Watson and they made their home in Stanchfield for 39 years. Robin worked at Reichel Brothers Meats and Grocery in Isanti for 30 years and then at the Milaca Elim Home. Robin LOVED to go camping with her family and friends, feeding her birds, flower gardening, watching tractor pulls with her husband and Denny, dirt track racing, and trips to California for the Mexican food. She loved to go craft saleing with her girlfriends during hunting season, four wheeling with friends, and most of all she loved spending time and baking with her grandchildren who she absolutely adored. She was a loving, caring and fun person who will be dearly missed.
Robin will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 39 years, Jim; three children, Josh Watson (Nichole), Holly (Ron) German, and Jeff Watson (Sami); brother, Patrick (Imogene) Anderson; two grandchildren, Waylon (8) and Sunny (6) and by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Red and Demay, and by her brother, Mike.

Sympathy to you, Jim, Jeff, Josh, and Holly. Seems like Robin was part of our family since she and Paula were friends since high school. She fought a good fight; may she now be pain free and with her parents.

My sympathies to all of you. Robin was raised by the most beautiful heart I have ever met, DeMay. I don’t think I ever saw Robin without a smile on her face and the world is a better place because we had Robin for a time.
God bless all who are hurting. She really was a special lady.
Tina says
I’m so sad that Robin lost her life to cancer, she was my BFF from 2nd grade on.
I lived 5 houses from Robin and we spent many many hours playing kickball and softball together. Her Aunt Janice would babysit Robin and her two brothers a lot, I would bring my Barbie Dolls and we would sit and play with them for hours.
Since we were the oldest on the block it was Robin and I that got all the babysitting jobs. We would take turns babysitting and even babysat together.
We played hopscotch a lot, there were many times we would play pranks on incoming cars coming down the street. We hung a string across the road with a sign in the middle connected to the string that said “HONK IF YOU’RE HORNEY”. When the car got close enough we would pull the string that was connected to the mail box on the other side of the road which would raise the sign. The driver would slam the car in park, open the door and yelled that he was going to catch us.
There were a couple other times when we TP’d her neighbors Willow trees in their front yard. It happened to be on a night when it rained. Let me tell you, she called me the next morning and told me the neighbors knew it was us and that we better go and clean it up. Of course we did.
I spent many nights sleeping in there tiny house in Spring Lake Park. We would stay up really late and watch Horror Movies on TV. One of my favorite treats is when Robin made Spice Cake when she knew I was spending the night. She would add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to the bowl and we would mix the cake with ice cream together. It was really good, she made the BEST Spice Cake!
We both had boyfriends that were brothers. Demay would drive us to their house so that we could go on double dates. Robin would have her mom straighten her hair by using an iron, just to go on a date!
Robin invited me to go to her Aunt Janice house for the weekend, it was so fun and awesome, they had chickens running lose everywhere. That was the weekend she met the love of her life, Jim. From that weekend on that’s all she would talk about, when she was going to see the man of her dreams.
Red and Demay wanted so much for their family, they moved up to Isanti for Robins last 3 years of high school.
When my BFF moved to Isanti our friendship dwindled down a bit. I went from seeing her everyday to now seeing her once or twice a year. My world was crushed when she moved, her and I did so many things for so many years. I can shut my eyes and I can see her smiling.
Robin wanted a family with Jim so bad, she was so lucky that she had 3 kids. She was on her glory but even more so when she became a Grandma.
I will never forget Robin or all my great memories of her, she and I were inseparable.
I will see my BFF again someday, I’m sure she will have Spice Cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream waiting for me with a big hug and beautiful smile! I miss you Robin, you will always be in my memory!
