Janice was born on October 2, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Walter and Mabel (Mattson) Brown. On November 14, 1953, she was united in marriage to Maynard Jean Jurgensen. They resided in Mounds View, Minnesota where they raised three boys: Dale Alan, Daniel Ray, and James Maynard. Janice worked in clothing retail when she was younger, as a key punch at Graco, and in later years doing Market Research with Judy Jurgensen and traveling. Janice and Maynard enjoyed taking family vacations out of state with the boys, alongside the Slaughter family in their campers, even traveling as far as Mexico.
After retirement, in the early 80’s, they moved to Long Lake outside of Isanti, Minnesota where they expanded their home. Maynard and Janice also lived in beautiful Lady Lake, Florida, where Maynard later passed away in June of 2001.
In the following years, Janice took a cruise to Alaska and traveled abroad in Europe. She moved back to Mounds View, Minnesota, then Sandstone, and later she finally made the decision to move into assisted living in Cloquet. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
