Thomas Ephrem LaClare, age 76, of Cambridge died August 22, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. A memorial visitation to honor his life will be held from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 27th at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge.
Thomas E. LaClare, passed away at the age of 76 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Tom was born in 1944 in Minneapolis to Thomas J. and Laverne LaClare. While in the Army, Tom met Karen, his wife of 54 years. The two moved to Colorado just prior to their daughter Tammy being born, they then returned to Minneapolis to be closer to family and friends.
Once their son Tom was born, the two moved to Cambridge, MN where they would reside for the next 49 years. Tom worked as a Tool and Die Maker.
Tom was fortunate to be able to spend many summers sailing and fishing on Mille Lacs and winters sailing the waters of Florida. Most recently, Tom was a fanatical British car enthusiast and very active member in the MN Jaguar Club.
He is survived by his wife Karen, children Tammy (Sally) and Tom (Nicole), grandchildren Dominique (David), Miranda (Jared), Noah and Mitchell. Tom was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
So sorry to learn of this huge loss. We pray that your many wonderful memories of Tom will echo in your heart and fill the silence created by your loss.
To all of you, I am so sorry! He was a great man, had a great sense of humor and will always be remembered by me for his huge smile, huge laugh and crazy stories! You had a gem of a man for a husband, father, and grandfather! We love you all and hope that your celebration of life on Thursday allows you all to get together and remember the times that made you laugh, cry and the times that can never be replaced!

My first thought when I met Tom is what a handsome guy, like a television star. During my interactions with Tom he was so nice to me, my wife and my kids. I liked hearing about sailing and life on a sailboat. He was great to my sister and my parents. The entire Beckwith family sends our support to Karen, Tammy and Tom and to-extended family and friends of the LaClare family.

So sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. I worked with Tom on the Marketing Committee of the Jaguar Club of Minnesota. He was a class act. Very thorough, professional and polite. It wasn’t uncommon for us to sit together at Jaguar Club events and I enjoyed every minute of his company. He was a true gentleman.
Sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. Tom was very instrumental in the success of the Minnesota Jaguar Club over the past few years, one of the largest Jaguar Clubs in the country. Tom will be missed; he was a good man.
