Raymon E. Owens, age 79 of Isanti, passed at his son’s home in Stanchfield on February 14, 2021. A celebration of life event will be held on July 3rd, at the family lakeside cabin in Grand Rapids, MN.
Raymon was born on March 10, 1941 in Holcolm, Dunklin County, Missouri to Ethar and Maxine (Binkley) Owens. His formative years were in Naperville, Illinois with seven siblings where he graduated with an acumen for defensive football and mechanics. Skills that he took with him to the Air Force Armament and Electronics Squad serving eight years active duty. Two of which were overseas in the Strategic Air Command’s air war in Vietnam. After which he got his private pilot license. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration, government sales, Transportation Security Agency, and school bus driver; receiving a retirement from each.
He was a family man. He expressed his love with words of affirmation, never missing an opportunity to compliment a job well done. He expressed his love with acts of service, willing and able to fix/repair anything in a moments notice. He expressed his love by spending quality time with you if only it was for a few minutes, though commuting several hours to see you. His love was unbounding whether it was for his family, pets, or his comfortable zubaz pants.
His warming ear-to-ear smile could be seen at the motocross track with family, or a freakish “Motengator” cribbage hand, or when playing some Willie or Waylon Jennings music, or a Minnesota Vikings football win, or spending time at the lakeside cabin, or building his LLC business at his home or a just quick visit.
After being in prostate cancer remission and cured for nearly 15 years, Raymon went peacefully home to heaven with his family by his side and a heartwarming smile to the very end. He is in loving company with parents, brothers David and Ernest, sister Wanda, and son Raymond J with his first wife Anne Tearney.
Raymon is remembered by his longtime love, Debra Hall; daughter, Christine; sons, John (Jesse), James (Janine), Jacob; brothers, Joe (Rita), Paul (Faith); sisters, Regina (Phil) Rice, Lana (Bob) Cerrata; grandchildren, Dyllen, Tony, Jonathan, Raina, Carrie, Kileigh, Alivia, River, Abby; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.
We give our thanks, Creator God, for the fathers in our lives. For their strength, hard work, dedication and love. We pray that you continue to bless him, as he has blessed us.

Your beautiful tribute said it all. He was always thoughtful, kind and very funny. I will always remember him stopping over for coffee to just say hello and see how we were doing. He will be missed.

What a beautiful tribute to Ray. It made me laugh and made me cry and brought back many memories. Ray was always willing to help people out. It didn’t matter the time of day if you needed help he was there. He was always good at fixing things even if it meant rigging it short term. He was a lot of fun and made me laugh many times. He clearly loved his children and grandchildren.I pray that God will be with all of you as you mourn this sad time but yet celebrate a life well lived!

Im sorry for your family’s loss, i got too meet ray when i was helping his daughter and granddaughter move, and he was such a sweet man with the brightest smile. He was a family man and was full of so much love.
Beau Fisher says
I feel extremely blessed that I had a chance to know Ray. He was everything described above and more! He was always helpful and kind. I beat him at cribbage only once, but I could not skunk him even though we played many many times. He loaned me his car when I could not afford one, opened his home to me when I needed one and always welcomed my phone calls with a genuine cheerfulness in his voice. I will truly miss him. I am convinced his presence in our world has made it a much better place for those who knew him!
JESSE KNEELAND says
So sorry to hear this news. Love and prayers for you all as you grieve your loss of Ray.
