I am going to miss my phone calls from Darrel … I could make the guy laugh from goofy things I would say to him …he was a great man!!!
Roy Palmer says
He was a wonderful brother. He called nearly every day and was always poking fun. He could always put a smile on my face. We fished and hunted together many times. I know Big D struggled the past few years but all the times we spoke he wouldn’t complain or talk about that unless I asked him, most of the time he would try to play it down. He will be me and many others. His wife, daughter and granddaughter have been beside him through all the medical issues. They are truly family in the highest degree. Thank you Kathy, Amy and Kayla

Back in high school ( Mounds View) Darrel and I connected. We were able to do many things together that still bring a smile to my face. Going smelt fishing with him was a blast, being his best man at his and Kathy’s wedding, was an honor, and having him as my best man was incredible. We lost touch until Brother Al met my wife in a grocery store near his home in Naples FL. Al put me back in touch with Darrel over a year ago. We spoke nearly every week, mostly about memories and old friends. I am already missing our talks, and always will. Rest In Peace my friend. Kathy, our prayers are with you and your family, call any time if you just need to talk.
