Roy Victor Heiska, age 81 of Isanti, died unexpectedly on July 17, 2021 at Essentia Health Hospital in Virginia. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 22nd at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
Roy Victor Heiska was born July18, 1939 in Virginia, Minnesota to Roy and Ida (Syvanen) Heiska. Roy served in the Army from 1958 – 1960. He was a member of the Boilermakers Union. Roy was an outdoors man enjoying hunting and fishing. He also liked dancing, history and collecting.
Roy died unexpectedly July 17, 2021 in Virginia at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 29 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol and brother-in-law, William Clark. He is survived by his cherished companion of 38 years, Betty Wilson and her children, Deborah Murphy, Carla Scharber, Jeffrey Wilson; brother, Rodney (Carol) Heiska; nieces, Mary (Steve) Ryan, Amy Chester; nephews, Brian Clark, Jeff (Chris) Heiska; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and friends.

I’m sorry that I could ot attend in person but I feel so lucky that my family and I got a chance to spend an afternoon with him and Betty recently. In so many ways he was still the big brother of my dad that I remember from my childhood.
