Cheryl Shimek, age 60 of Circle Pines, died at home on September 14, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, September 20th at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti. Interment will be in Nicholas Cemetery. A light lunch will follow at Oxlip Evangelical Free Church, 29237 Roanoke Street NW, Isanti 55040. NOTE CHANGE OF LOCATION FOR THE SERVICE.
Cheryl Annette Shimek was born October 16, 1960 in Minneapolis to Gary and Fran (Peterson) Mitchell. She was raised in Isanti and Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Cheryl graduated from Grand Rapids High School. She then attended Itasca Community College and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Cheryl married Steven Shimek on August 16, 1986. They made their home in Denver, Colorado; Wichita, Kansas; the Twin City area and then in 1994 they settled in Circle Pines. Cheryl enjoyed quilting, needle work and sewing.
Cheryl died at her home on September 14, 2021 at the age of 60. She is survived by her husband, Steve of Circle Pines; step-children, Christopher Shimek of Alabama, Aric (Andres) Shimek of Illinois; siblings, Jerry Mitchell of Sartell, Lynn Steinhart of Princeton; and by many other relatives and friends.
