Steven Lowry Blazevic valued the best things in life – family, friends, hard work and most of all good times, never taking life too seriously. He passed away in his home on Lake Pokegama in Grasston on November 30th, 2021 surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
You knew you were in for an adventure when Steve would invite you out; from long weekends boat-camping and late night games of 31 at the cabin on Sand Point to spur of the moment road trips that turn into all day gallivanting. Steve’s slapstick sense of humor kept everyone around him in light spirits and left with sore cheeks from laughing and smiling. He truly loved his friends, who became family, and would make more everywhere he went.
Steve and Sherri were married for 38 years, having two daughters, Dawn (Charlie) and Adrianne (Will) who Steve adored; also survived by his brothers John (Theresa) and Dave (Michelle). Steve was joined in his escapades growing up in Minneapolis with his three brothers Brad, John and Dave. As he was just a big kid himself, he loved when his grandchildren came into his life – Gavin, Elijah, and Blaine and most recently, Wahkon. Steve will be reunited with his best friend and father, Tom Blazevic, his mother, Jean Blazevic, brother, Brad Blazevic and many beloved friends.

Sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. I was fortunate to know Steve from an early age. Even got in a few of those games of 31 at the cabin. Very generous friend in many ways. Fun loving is a good description and Steve had a way of lifting up the group no matter who he was with. Loved his laugh. I have so many good things to say about Steve this space does not have enough room. My prayers and wishes of strength to Steve’s family.

Adventures with Steve usually left you wondering how you made it back. Road trips, camp fires and boating on Pokegama will never be the same. You couldn’t have had a better neighbor. The gang won’t be the same without him.
Our sincere condolences to Sherrie and family.

Many wonderful memories – From countless snowmobile adventures, Namakan boat rides, beach Bocce ball, and Pine City Pontoon Floatillas, to late night Limo drop-in on Sherri’s and your way to the airport with RD and Gail, to ringing in the new year just a few years ago (pic) thinking there would be so many more. You will be missed, dear Steve. My deepest condolences to Sherri, family and friends.

In times of adversity and sorrow bestowed upon us throughout life is the greatest gifts, Reflection of Memories of old and treasured Memories of gold, that help pull us through in the time’s of Lost Loved one’s and acquaintances that past to the other side.
Here’s my Reflection over the past few days.
Within Steve’s email address is very telling and maybe missed at first glance.
I think it tells what kind of person he was in life (tsunami1)
a force to be reckoned with.
But also like in the aftermath of a (tsunami)
He was a heart felt helping hand and knowledgeable resource to the people he called freind.
Treasured Memories of old and gold,
Along with his infectious smile when greeting you that surely suggested an agenda that having fun was just around the corner.
Past memory, on several occasions going to the zoo, where Steve would walk in, throw down five bucks on pulltabs and order a drink and most times win $50.00 or more, the party just begun.
Steve success I believe came from his understanding of risk and that you can’t have anything without that risk factor and understanding the odds which, I believe he understood very well. Along with these combinations and hard work ethics, clearly account to his sucsses in Life and he will be remembered as a reminder to all that knew him the lessons his life tsunami taught us.
So when It’s time to go to the other side, I will first look for the tsunami and know that’s where I will find all our friends and loved ones telling me the party just got started and the fun has just begun… Come on in.
RIP Steve

Who else got their Xmas tree 30ft in the air by casually shooting the top off a 45ft tree!
May your mooring be in calm waters and may you always ride a freshly groomed trail! Peace Brother, Dock Man
