Archie Basil Wyatt, Jr. was born November 26, 1927 on the family farm at Cooper’s Corner in Bethel, Minnesota to Archie and Jessie (Wicklander) Wyatt. He attended Cooper’s Corner and St. Francis schools. Archie served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
On October 18, 1952 Archie married Jo-Ann Zettervall at Spring Lake Park Lutheran Church. They raised their sons on the family farm and attended the Bethel Community Church. Archie’s family learned the importance of serving God through volunteering at church. He was baptized in June of 1975.
Archie was always a farmer at heart. He farmed with his dad, brother Leigh and sons Bruce and Nelson. Even in retirement, Archie was active in farming by driving tractors, being the main parts runner, moving equipment from field to field and working in the garden. Many people enjoyed the beautiful gladiolus he grew.
Archie was a social butterfly and everyone knew him. He enjoyed square dancing, playing cribbage, snowmobiling and ice fishing. He and Jo-Ann started going to Texas in the winter of 1986, stopping in Branson on the way to and from Texas to enjoy the entertainment. He loved ice cream and knew where every Dairy Queen was between home and Texas. While in Texas he enjoyed dominoes, cards, entertainment and square dancing.
Archie was always there to help and share with others. He loved giving tractor rides to grandchildren and taking them to the Creamery for breakfast. The great-grandchildren brought him much joy as they learned that the only REAL tractors are GREEN.
Archie passed away peacefully November 30, 2021 at home. He had been in Hospice care since July 13. A special thank you to St. Croix Hospice for the exceptional care of both Archie and his family.
