Orlo Anthony Balcer was born on July 30, 2001 in Robbinsdale, MN and passed on May 26, 2022 in Ham Lake MN.
Orlo was born a strong willed do it myself person with a large heart to help others anyway he could. He liked to see others laugh and be happy. Orlo enjoyed all kinds of music and could fit in with anyone anywhere. He had a gift like no other.
There are many Orlo izms that started at a young age. One of Beth’s favorites is ‘acream’ for Ice Cream. One of Craig’s favorites is “pock’ for pocket.
Orlo graduated from Cambridge Isanti High School in June of 2019. He was a great high school student. Learning came easy to Orlo and he loved to learn. Orlo easily made friends throughout his school years.
Orlo started working at McDonalds in Isanti at 15 years old. After taking some time off he went to work at Coborns in Isanti, where he made life long friends. Later he was a lot attendant at Forest Lake Automotive Group in Forest Lake, MN. He decided he wanted something that challenged him and was in the Tech field.
Orlo took a chance and applied for a Help Desk job with Frandsen Bank and Trust in Arden Hills, MN. He got the job and started to make a career out of learning and solving others issues.
Orlo and his brother, Owen have their Dads passion for cars. They loved working on cars, cleaning them inside and out and modifying them to make them faster and to be their own.
Orlo was preceded in death by his grandmother, Chris Osier; his grandfather, Jim Goerdt; great grandparents, Ellis and Roberta Weathers, Paul and Marion Osier, Ladislaus and Hilma Balcer, Tony and Nadine Sundvall.
Orlo is survived by many lifelong friends; his brother, Owen Balcer; his Mom and Dad, (Elizabeth & Craig Balcer); grandparents, Cyndi Osier (Jim), David Osier (Chris), Rodney and Carol Balcer; aunts, Jenny O’Sullivan (John Grosz), Becky (Kevin) Halberg, Nicole (Shawn) Muder; uncles, Tim Goerdt (Phillip Barrett), Stephen (Sarah) Goerdt, Casey Balcer(Heather Collins); cousins, Doyle Halberg, Duncan Halberg, Joshua Goerdt, Haley Balcer, Morgen Collins, Madelyn Collins, Lacey Muder, Dylan Muder, Allyson Muder, Nora Muder.

We are so very sorry for your loss! Love and prayers
I am so sorry for your loss. I only had the opportunity to work with Orlo for a short time but will dearly miss him.
There aren’t words to express the loss I feel. My heart goes to all of you. Orlo made such a large imprint on my heart. He was so eager to learn, passionate about everything and always smiling. I will miss listening to him talk about cars, crypto currency, video games and then more cars. I will miss talking to him about Dungeons & Dragons but mostly I will miss his laugh. He was the beating heart of our team. We love him so.
My heart is broken for you all.. Orlo was such a sweetheart, gone way too soon. You are all in my prayers. 💔
I am so sorry and shocked over the loss of Orlo! I am so sorry!
Craig, Beth and Owen
There are no words that can express how we feel for your loss. Our hearts are broken for all of you. All our love and prayers go out for you
So sorry to hear about this loss for you family. Sending Love and Prayers.
To the Balcer family: I had the privilege of getting to know Orlo and benefitting from his indomitable can-do attitude. My department has the only Mac computers in the entire Frandsen Financial organization, and early on, Orlo accepted the challenging task of keeping those computers functioning. He went above and beyond by initiating his own research and development to become a Mac whiz in a very short time, always with a smile and his signature “I’ve got this” spirit. We have a set of values in our company called The Frandsen Way, a culture of service, respect, and integrity. Orlo exuded those values—he did you proud during his much-too-short career at Frandsen.
I am so sorry for the loss of your dear son. My thoughts are with you, and hoping you can find comfort and peace. My heart breaks for you.
My heart is broken. No amount of words can express the pain that you and your family are going through. I am sending you love and prayers and hope you are able to find strength during this dark time. You and you family are in my prayers.
I met Orlo at Coborn’s then later he came and helped me move and unpack after our home remodel just a few weeks ago. I will always look at the lights in our basement and think of him. Which is fitting, as he seemed to have a strong flame inside, helping others with a smile and big heart. To the family, I can’t imagine your loss and am so sorry that you have to go through the tragedy of someone so young to be gone. I will always remember him.
I’m so sorry to hear about this. My hearts breaks for all of you. Sending prayers.
Beth, I am so sorry to hear about your son. My deepest sympathies and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. I am here for you, please let me know if there is anything at all I can help with.
I worked with Orlo at Mcdonalds and then later at Coborns, he was such a sweet, kind hearted person. He always knew how to make people laugh and i dont think i ever saw him upset he just was always in a good mood. When I hurt my leg and had to use crutches for a while at work he always would offer to help me around and to bring me a seat. I have a lot of good memories of him. I’m so sorry for your loss.
Beth, I am so sorry to hear about your son. My deepest condolences are with you and your family during this very difficult time.
I can not even imagine the deep heartache that you are feeling.
May God wrap His loving arms around you and give you strength.
