From an early age, Sara was an accomplished flutist with a knack for teaching herself how to play a variety of instruments. Sara graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, Minnesota in 1989, where she was a member of the jazz band, marching band and drama club. Sara then attended college at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, where she earned an Associates Degree. Sara then attended Augsburg University, where she studied religion and was a member of the Concert Band.
Sara worked at Allianz Life Insurance Company in Minneapolis as a Compliance Officer for more than 15 years. In her time away from work, Sara bred, raised, raced, and showed her beloved borzois and was active in the Twin Cities borzoi community.
Laurie says
My lovely borzoi, Luka, came from Sara. When I went to her house to meet her and see the puppies, we found that both our first borzoi were litter mates. It was a nice coincidence.
Lynda Lee says
I don’t remember if we met at dog shows or dog races. But we attended many of the same events and had many wonderful conversations. Eventually my daughter (also Sara) showed some of Sara’s borzois. Sara and I were supposed to get together for coffee (aka conversation) this summer and catch up as I was unable this past year due to work and health issues. 😭

I will miss knowing she’s going about her life with her beloved dogs. Getting updates and sharing stories of some of the crazy things life deals us as time goes by.

I remember Sara’s birth and childhood very well, since we spent a lot of time together in our families in those days. I had gotten reacquainted recently and enjoyed talking with her about family connections, her life in Cambridge and her beautiful dogs. Love to you, Eric and David and family as you remember her.
