Marietta Ann Larson lived an incredible life devoted to helping others. Marietta was a leader of her Cambridge High School class of 1957 and a Nursing graduate of Hamline University. She worked many years as an RN at Cambridge Memorial Hospital at the same time Marietta was a homemaker, gardener, farmer, Elim Isanti youth group leader, and mother of three. Marietta kept all who knew her heading in the right direction. Once a nurse always a nurse – Marietta was able to diagnose and treat many physical and non-physical ailment. Kids, dogs, cows, and pigs with scrapes, cuts, or fevers were all in good hands. Later in life Marietta and Glenn traveled extensively in many directions.
Mom always had a long list of ‘things to do’ and was happier being busy than not. Something she learned from her mother.
Her incredible talent was managing activities and those around her. From gardening to livestock care, getting kids on the bus to feeding and entertaining youth group members. All who knew Marietta learned to plan ahead and stay busy.
We are deeply saddened by our loss. We were immensely blessed to have had so many wonderful years with her. We are very comforted knowing she is in a much better place. Her new mansion has a great ‘manager’.
Marietta Larson was born on November 17, 1939 in Cambridge, Minnesota. Marietta passed away from this world on May 17, 2022, at age 82 years, to be the Guest of Honor at her welcome home party in heaven. She was preceded in her heavenly journey by her parents, Einar and Edythe Anderson and her husband of 62 years, Glenn Larson.
Marietta is loved and remembered here by her daughter, Barb Love; her sons, Steve and Bruce and wife, Renee; grandson, Caden; her brothers and sister, Adrian, George, Jim, Mike, Cathy, and Phillip; in addition sister in law Joyce, brother in law Lloyd, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and numerous friends.
Love you Mom!!!

Glenn and Marietta Larson were fantastic people and incredible supports in the two areas of responsibility I was entrusted with at Elim Baptist Church in Isanti from 1978-1982. They had single-handedly volunteered the youth program prior to my arrival, kept the church bus alive and well and managed the sound system in the new sanctuary with consistency and quality. These were good parents to Bruce/Steve/Barb, solid citizens and lived their faith through faithful actions. I grieve your loss with them and know they will be missed! Blessings from Costa Rica!

Marietta was so special to me……in many ways. I first met her in August, 1957, when we were assigned to be “room-mates” as freshman nursing students. God had lots of plans for our friendship, and by mid-October of that year, she had “cooked-up” a blind-date between Glenn’s good friend, David Hammar, and her room-mate, Leone Hammar (that would be me!) The rest of the story includes many memories, not the least of which was activities with the “Elim” youth group; 2 RN’s graduating from Hamline’s class of 1960, my marriage to David in Sept. 1960, and our “Isanti years,” from 9/60 to 5/65, when we “headed south.” David always answered the question….”when are you moving back here” (Isanti)? …with the phrase, “if you notice which way I’m going……it’s south…. I’ve had enough of those Minnesota winters!” And that move south included Peotone, IL, Ridgeway, MO, and Pleasanton, KS. David “moved” from Pleasanton to his heavenly home in January 2022, and I’m waiting for my name to be called to join them, and to “ever be with the LORD.”

Your mother was a wonderful caring woman. I worked at Memorial Hospital as a nurses aid and I blessed to work under her. She was a great teacher and a care given. She glowed with her love of God. God bless you now in your loss.
