Chris R. Omlid, age 56, of Anoka died unexpectedly at home August 22, 2022. A graveside gathering will be held at 1:00 pm on September 10, 2022 at Rosebud Cemetery with luncheon to follow at Our Saviors Lutheran Church dining hall in rural Grygla, MN.
Chris Omlid of Anoka, MN, born in Minneapolis, MN on 10-1-65 passed into peace on August 22, 2022. He is survived by sons Jagur and Zane Omlid of Braham, MN, parents Clay and Shirley Omlid, Isanti, MN, sister Sherry Blair, Isanti, nephews Julien and Jett Blair of New Brighton, MN, lifetime friend Rich Walsh, Anoka, MN as well as extended family and friends.
Chris worked in the asphalt industry and ran a bobcat like no other. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and motorcycles, not necessarily in that order.
As a young boy he rode games in 4H and open shows. He was very good at it and could ride a horse with the best of them.
Graduated in 1984 from St. Francis High School in St. Francis, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. His tricks on the trampoline were epic back in the day.
Chris had a good heart and a gentle soul. He was a generous person which at times became a problem for him.
He loved his two boys with his whole heart. He will lie in tranquil peace at Rosebud Cemetery, Grygla, MN.
Rest in peace dear Chris.

I’ll Miss Chris , we were about the same age and did a lot together in our younger days, fishing in the Rum, playing football under the yard light, driving around the Grygla area. Our middle years were tough on both of us, I’m just glad he’s in a better place, and he’s not suffering anymore!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you all!!
Love you all
Lon
