Donald R. Griep, age 87, of East Bethel passed away peacefullly at home September 4, 2022. Visitation Friday the 7th of October, 2022, 4-7pm at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 19001 Jackson St. NE, East Bethel, Mn 55011. Private burial at a later date.

Donald R Griep, age 87 of East Bethel passed away due to renal failure on Sunday the 4th of September, 2022, at home surrounded by family.
Proceeded in death by wife MaryAnn (Evgen) Griep, Son- in-Law Brian Otto and Granddaughter Angie Marie Griep.
Survived by children Mike (Rose) Griep, Brian (Dawn) Griep, Shelly (Jon) Jones, Patti Otto, 8 Grandchildren, 14 great Grandchildren, Brother John (Marilyn) Olson, Sister Jean (Dennis) Neilson, Nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends.
Don spent his childhood years on the family farm in Crown, MN, married his high school sweetheart MaryAnn in June 1954 at which time they started their lives together in East Bethel. He led by example and his pride for his family and community shined bright in his willingness to talk, listen and lend a helping hand whenever one was in need.
He was a founding member of the East Bethel Fire Department where he served for 20 years, 61 year member of the Minnesota DNR as a Fire Warden, 20 years volunteering to deliver Meals on Wheels, 60+ year member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church where he wore many hats over the years and enjoyed being a member of the Hard Hats group in his later years.
Don always had a smile and something nice to say every time we met. He and MayAnn hold a very special place in my heart and memories.
Don was one of the nicest guys you could meet. I worked with him as a firefighter in East Bethel for a number of years. As the obit said always willing to help.
