Norma “Jeannie” Nelson, age 76, loving wife and mother passed away at her home in Sartell Minnesota on October 6, 2022. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti on Thursday October 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service. Luncheon to follow service. Private burial at a later date at Isanti Union Cemetery.

November 14, 1945 – October 6, 2022
Norma was born November 14, 1945 in Rush City, Minnesota to Gust and Arlene (Pohl) Calander. She grew up in North Branch Minnesota and graduated with honors from North Branch High School in 1963. After graduation she moved to Minneapolis and worked as an Executive Secretary for Prudential Insurance. On July 2, 1966, she married John Nelson. In 1974, John and Norma built a home in North Branch to raise their two children. She then spent the majority of her career working for Green Acres Country Care Center in North Branch where she cared for residents in multiple roles as certified nursing assistant, trained medication aide, and accounts receivable representative. She loved to read, watch true crime programs, movies, cooking, and spending time with her family. In 2020, Norma and John moved closer to their youngest daughter in Sartell Minnesota where she enjoyed swimming in the pool.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband John and two children Julie Longley (Mathew) and Janna Nelson (Dale Hayes), her siblings Cal (Sonny) (Debbie) Calander, LeRoy (Kaye) Calander, Becki (Steve) Kruse, Deb Calander (Mike Leist), Winnie Steenerson, Laurie Hansen, Ginger Harvey and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Gust and Arlene Calander and brothers Mark and Paul Calander.
