Shirley Veronica Richard, 87, of Isanti MN, peacefully left her earthly life and joined her beloved husband, John and daughter, Dawn on December 29, 2022.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 6th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Shirley was born on May 23, 1935 in Hibbing, Minnesota to Valerian and Irma (Hyduk) Grobove. Shirley grew up and went to school in Keewatin, MN. After graduating she moved to Minneapolis where she worked for the telephone company. On October 6, 1956 she married John Louis Richard. They made their home in Isanti where they raised 5 children together. Shirley was a homemaker and loving mother. Shirley loved to be surrounded by her family, tending to her garden, cooking and being involved with the church. Shirley always found the good in everyone she met. To know Shirley was to love her.
Shirley passed away peacefully on December 29, 2022 after a 9 month battle of Pancreatic Cancer at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 6 days. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Valerian and Irma Grobove; sister, Irene Swanson; brother, Ben Grobove; husband, John Richard; and daughter, Dawn Richard.
Shirley is survived by 4 children, Michael (Andrea) Richard of Longville, Scott (Dawnner) Richard of Pine City, Brian (Kris) Richard of Little Canada, Todd (Jessie) Richard of Bradford; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Shirley was and remains forever loved and cherished by her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Shirley was such a godsend to my family through the years. After the loss of my father, she was a rock in my family. She was a solid heart my family needed. She will be so very sorely missed. Her being gone will be a misstep and reassurance that is gone now.
