Frances Weddig, age 73, of Cambridge, formerly of Spooner, Wisconsin, died January 27, 2023 at GracePointe Crossing. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at GracePointe Crossing, 1545 River Hills Pkwy NW, Cambridge. A luncheon will follow the service.
Frances was born February 5, 1949, in Bronx, New York, the daughter of Peter and Lee Heffler. At the age of four, her family moved to California. Frances graduated from Venice High School in 1966. She met her husband, Donald Weddig, while he was stationed at the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California. They married June 24, 1972, in Santa Monica, California. They moved to Stratford, Wisconsin in 1977 for Donald’s career as a computer programmer and to be closer to his family. In 1990, with their three daughters, they moved to Spooner when Donald accepted a job with the DNR. Frances spent most of her adult life working in the fast-food industry.
Frances enjoyed being a wife, a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching sports, particularly the Green Bay Packers, the San Francisco 49ers and the LA Lakers. She enjoyed shopping, making bead jewelry, playing and calling Bingo, watching the T.V. show Blue Bloods, going to movies, attending services at First Baptist Church in Cambridge, and spending time with her family and friends.
Frances Weddig died January 27, 2023 at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Lee Heffler; Donald Weddig, her husband of 46 years; and brother-in-law, Jeff Gruel.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Trixie (Tom) Havenner, Rachel Kytonen and Sabrina Weddig; grandson, Gabe Weddig; brother, Elliot (Beki) Heffler; brother-in-law, Ken (Carol) Weddig; sisters-in-law, Nancy (Gary) Burns and Debbie Gruel; and by many other relatives and friends.
