Harley was born March 07, 1946, in Mora, MN to Andrew Linder and Elvira Linder. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1965. Harleys first job was digging potatoes at the Green Barn and then he worked at the Egg Plant in Cambridge. After that he did construction work. On March 04th, 1967 Harley married Sandy Linder (Mattson). They were married for 25 years. They raised their 3 kids in Ogilvie, MN. Harley was also a volunteer firefighter for 10 years in Ogilvie. Harley loved music (especially classic country) and learned to play guitar and he was a drummer. He was in a band with Sandy, his brother Vern, and friend Gary Turner for many years. He knew how to sing the laughing polka really well and had many requests to sing it.
Harley married Shirley Linder (Muster) in 1997. Harley started working at Multi-Tech Systems in February of 1994. He worked there for 15 years and then on-call until he retired. In 1995, Harley and Shirley started doing karaoke at many different places and continued with it for many years. Harley also liked to follow the Killer Hayseeds band around. He loved to sing so much he even sang in a competition up in Duluth, MN. He won a first place award!
Harley lived at Grace Point Crossings in Cambridge for the past 2 years. He loved visiting with the staff there, watching the Vikings play, and he enjoyed doing karaoke for the residents and brought so much joy to them! Brad Fischer says
I was Harley’s supervisor for all the years he was at MultiTech Systems. He was a kind hearted guy with a big heart. He would always say good morning when he arrived and always said good bye when he left. he would strike up a conversation and tell a joke from time to time. His smile would light up a room.
He will be missed but not forgotten. RIP my friend.
Signed, Brad Fischer
