Kevin Richard Johnson, age 63, of Rush City died January, 5, 2023 at home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 20th at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Weber.

Kevin R. Johnson, age 63, of Rush City passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, peacefully at home.
Kevin was born on December 15, 1959. He was raised by parents Kenneth and Corinne (Lindstrom) Johnson. He attended North Branch Schools and graduated in 1978. Kevin started working at the age of 13 alongside his Uncle Bill, who taught him the trade of drywall. He worked in the drywall industry until his medical retirement at age 61. He married Laurel McChesney on June 10, 2016. Kevin loved deer hunting, pheasant hunting in South Dakota, and riding motorcycle. He made several trips to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and the Kettle River Shakedown. He enjoyed cooking and would spend many hours together with his wife in the kitchen baking bread, making delicious soups, or canning vegetables from their garden.
Kevin is survived by his wife Laurel and her family; children Joe, Jenny, and Kayle and their families; mother, Corinne Johnson; brother, Charlie; and sister, Kris.

I knew Sven (what my father David Nelson would call him) from a hand full of gatherings and a couple fishing’s trips. I have a great memory of the fishing trips that I will never forget. Prayers and thoughts to the family and friends of Kevin may your memories always be cherished.

Dad, it’s your muff here. I miss you so much already I just WANT TO WAKE UP ALREADY but I can’t. It won’t bring you home again. You are the best dad and you are so loved. Thank you for being my dad. And thank you for everything you’ve ever done for me. You fought hard dad. I won’t forget that.
