Marcia Lea McCabe (Atkins) was born on August 22nd, 1979, in Robbinsdale to Richard and Karen (Pahlow) Atkins. She was the younger of their two daughters. She grew up on a hobby farm that was part of her father’s childhood property. She loved to ride their 3 wheeler, John Deere tractors, and snowmobiles around the property all year long. She would play outside and often had friends over to give rides too. Marcia graduated from St. Francis High School in 1997. After high school, she worked a few different jobs before going to school for dental assisting. She found a great position working in Fridley. She worked there until right before having her fourth child. After that, she became a stay at home mom. She loved her children with all of her heart. She made the decision to home school them with a strong Christian faith.
Marcia met her husband, Josh, early on in elementary school. They remained friends until life aligned for them later on in adulthood. She would often say, “He’s my childhood sweetheart, I love him so much. He’s my soulmate.” They were married August 16, 2014 at her parent’s home in East Bethel. Marcia wanted to have many children. They were blessed with 5 beautiful babies. The most recent blessing only 3 months ago. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and teacher to their children.
Marcia was called home to the Lord after a tough battle with inflammatory breast cancer on May 3rd, 2023 at the age of 43. She was brave and fought so fiercely to stay here for her children. We will miss her beautiful smile, one of a kind laugh, and sassy attitude. Fly high beautiful sister, we love you and will miss you so much! Until we meet in heaven….
She is preceded in death by her mother, Karen Atkins, grandparents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Marcia is survived by loving husband, Josh; her 5 young children; Hailey, Wyatt, Kaitlyn, Brycen, and Colton, her father Richard Atkins, her sister Marcie (Dan) Cowman, half-brother Terry (Elaine) Roberts, half-sister Traci Beaulieu (Ray Goudey), along with aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gone too soon. When I think of Marcia there are a lot of childhood memories that come to mind. They do include riding on that 3 wheeler and they definitely include her sass 🙂 when Aunt Karen would tell her no. She was outgoing and she was sweet. I feel truly blessed that over the summer we were able to reconnect, running into eachother at church. She was seeking God and raising her children in the faith. The way she could keep them all in order in the lobby whole they ran in different directions amazed me 😁. She was full of joy and I will miss that. Heaven gained a true angel. ❤

Wishing words alone could take away the sadness and loss. Your tribute to Marcia was beautiful Marcie, to have you as a devoted sister especially through this painful disease must have eased her mind and allow her the comfort needed to let go. Loving prayers of peace and sweet memories to you all. May GOD watch over each precious little one, Josh, Richard, You, Dan, and the rest of the family. 🙏
