Marilyn Jean Adams, age 81, of Elk River and formerly of Otter Tail and Coon Rapids, died May 22, 2023 at Elk River Senior Living. A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 1 at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Marilyn Jean Adams was born July 10, 1941 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Edmund and Leone (Jensen) Savoie. The family moved often when Marilyn was growing up and she graduated from Richfield High School. On June 8, 1963 she married Russell Delbert Adams in Minneapolis. They raised their two children, Lee and Debby, in Coon Rapids. After retirement Marilyn and Russell moved to Otter Tail, Minnesota. Marilyn enjoyed reading, word games, cards, puzzles, arts and crafts, gardening, fishing, baking, listening to music & singing. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
Marilyn passed away May 22, 2023 at Elk River Senior Living at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 12 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by five siblings, Gordon, DuWayne, Eldon, Judy and Layne. She is survived by her loving husband, Russell; two children, Lee Adams (Teresa Mikelson), and Debby (Ross) Gillespie; brother, Dean (Cheryl) Savoie; three grandchildren, Dane (Chelsea) Gillespie, RJ Gillespie (Fiancée, Laura), and Anna Gillespie; and by many other relatives and friends.
Debby’s parents took me in, without hesitation, when I needed a soft place to land. I will never forget watching their pure joy in being parents and honestly, just good people. ❤️🙏🏼
