Michael Jon Skow was born in Robbinsdale, MN on October 27, 1955. He graduated from Osseo Senior High in 1973. His favorite childhood memories are living on a farm in Stacy MN. He eventually moved to Indiana and spent much of his adult life working for Colwell General in Kendallville, IN and later drove a semi-truck around the US. His favorite place to live was the two years he spent in Florida after retiring. He loved the sunshine and watching the rocket launches take off from Cape Canaveral. From there he returned to Minnesota to be closer to his family. His last place of residence was at The Sanctuary in Brooklyn Center. He made friends easily and was well cared for by the staff. He was very proud of his raised garden bed and loved bringing smiles to people’s faces with his giant sunflowers. He’s most known for his sense of humor, playful pranks and enjoying the simple things in life. He will be buried near his favorite memories of childhood in a simple, small-town cemetery in the country, which is exactly what he wanted.
Mike is survived by his children Natalie and Jeremy; grandson Jacob; siblings Steve (Darlene), Jackie (Tom), Becky (David), Sandy and Jeff. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Millie Skow.
In lieu of flowers, support your local White Castle or make a sandwich with real mayonnaise (none of that Miracle Whip crap!) in his memory. Tell a joke or find a way to make someone smile as Mike would have done.

Mike was a very caring and beautiful person. I met him at the sanctuary in Brooklyn center and enjoyed many moments. I only got to know Mike and the last month to 6 weeks but he left but he left an impression on me that I will never forget.

I am so sorry to learn this. I met Mike at the Glenn in Buffalo. He was a good friend to me, I miss him. I’ve been trying to call him and then Googled his name, finding the beautiful obituary.
