You know, a guy can get a haircut anywhere, but I always made it a point to go to Todd. Always a great conversation with him, whether it was about gardening, politics, sports, whatever. He was always very pleasant to everyone and knew everyone by name. Always offered me coffee after my haircut, and I usually stayed and chatted if he was not too busy. He was a great guy and will be missed by many. R.I.P. good sir, your presence will be greatly missed by many.

My dad and I were so sad to read the notice of Todd’s passing. He’s been my dad’s barber for years. He was a great comfort when my dad was going through some health issues and had lost hair due to chemotherapy. Visiting with Todd at the barbershop was special and we’ll surely miss this kind and humble man. May he rest in peace.

Todd was my husband’s barber for many years. We are incredibly sad to hear of his passing. My husband always enjoyed visiting with Todd and talking about local events, his farm and gardening. He became a friend to us throughout the years and even acknowledged our wedding with a nice card and gift. Our prayers go out to his family and friends. Rest in peace dear friend. 💙

I loved that man. Cut my hair for years and we had wonderful talks about The Lord.

I remember he and his uncle would be at the small Peoples Cafe sitting drinking a gallon of coffee; that is where we became friends. They moved their party to our restaurant solving world problems and we visited more. Then he went to be a barber and we could visit with him there. He had a special place in my heart as a really nice nice person. Rest in peace my friend. We will visit in heaven.

Todd was a great person, a true hearted hard working man who was content with the simple life. I will miss our chats, the history lessons he shared and the mindset that appreciates a firm handshake and the old AM radio in his barber shop.
See you up there my friend. RIP

I echo the sentiments of the people above. Todd loved to talk about his gardens. If I remember correctly he loved his rutabagas. Even after moving to Two Harbors I would stop by his shop for a trim and conversation.

We had the pleasure of camping near Todd at the White Pine Threshing Show for many years. He volunteered at the sawmill there for several years. We had just saw him there this past Labor Day weekend and got a chance to reconnect with him. He would join our family and friends for short visits but never wanted to intrude even though we encouraged him to stay for dinners or sit with us around the campfire. He always asked about our family members and our lives. He was a really special person! Our sympathy and prayers to Brett and family.

I met Todd a couple years ago when looking for a barber as I was new to the city of Isanti. I appreciated his wit and stories. So saddened to learn of his passing, RIP sir.

Words can’t describe how sorry we are for the loss of such a kind friendly person in the community. Todd was the best at trimming my husbands beard and hair not sure we will find a replacement like him. My husband loved his stories each visit they talked a lot about plumbing and pipefitting! I will never forgot his generous stop to get my husband cleaned up for our son’s graduation party as my husband was injured so Todd came right to the drive way!!! RIP Todd.

I tried so hard to find out what was going on with Todd when I went to get a haircut and there were signs in his window that signaled something was wrong. The problem was that I had the wrong last name. I had it as Essex. We always had interesting conversations about the Range and the city of Chisholm where I grew up. He had spent some time working in that area and remembered the good times he had at the Slovenian Home there. I wish I could have attended the services at the funeral home. I will miss all of the interesting conversations we had about construction. When I came out of college in 1954 I worked for a firm that provided all the ready-mix concrete at Erie Mining co. in Hoyt Lakes. He was so interested in hearing about all the work our firm did there. I’m praying nightly that the Good Lord has taken his soul to Heaven and that he will Rest in Eternal Peace.

I love getting my hair cut at Isanti Barbers. Every time I had my hair done I would say: Todd, you are the artist and I am your Canvas. “Work your Magic”, and just like that, Todd made me look dang good.
You know I have been in Isanti for a short time. There are two people that really know you in your life. That`s your Spouse and Your Barber. We talked all the time and he got to know me as a person and I learned about Todd as I would visit. Todd`s a very bright person that I enjoyed seeing.
I was out on Business when I got the news of his passing. As a matter of fact I found out yesterday. This hit me.
Todd, You will be missed by many. To Todd`s Family and Friends, my thoughts and prayers are with you……..
