Norman was born March 8, 1946 to Walter and Florence (Daudt) Bahr in Elk River, Minnesota. They resided in Crown, Minnesota, “On the East side of the tracks” as Norman would say, and attended school in the St. Francis school district. He always said that his senior class trip was to Vietnam where he served his country faithfully in the US Army, Norman was very patriotic and loved our country’s flag, the eagle and what they stand for.
After completing his duty, Norman attended Dunwoody Institute and earned his degree in the electrical field becoming an electrician. Norman loved his work, and became a member of the IBEW Local 110 Union. He retired at the age of 60, working his last 25 years for Muska Electric.
Norman loved the “thrill of the hunt” for “treasures” on Craigslist, garage sales, flea markets and threshing shows. He was known to be able to fix anything, and it was often heard to be said “Fix it Norm, fix it.” With his wit and humor, lots of stories, and his honest character, he will be lovingly and sadly missed by many.
Norman died unexpectedly Dec. 8, 2023 at the age of 77 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Florence, niece Pam, and nephew Perry.
Norman was survived by his wife, Deanna (Grams/Anderson); daughters, Shawna (Mark) Swartz, and Monica (Brad) Seiberlich; grandchildren, Dominick (Claire) Swartz, and Shyann Swartz; step children, Nicole (Nick, Ben & Lydia) Schuett, Matthew Anderson, and Lisa Anderson; sister, Marilyn (Arthur) Irwin; brother, Arlin Bahr (Linda); and many other relatives and friends.

So sorry to hear that Norman, our friend and classmate since 1st grade, has passed. He was always the good guy. Our classmates were all great friends, all our lives. My recent memory was our 50th class reunion, 9 years ago. Norman and Deanna hosted the portion at Woodbury Park Band Stand, with photos from over the years. And I saw them at their home that year, where we talked about our mutual love of old cars. I had hoped to see them at our next reunion… My heart is heavy, losing my long-time childhood friend.
