Emma Mittelstadt, age 97, of Mora died January 13, 2024 in Mora. Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 4th at Zion Lutheran Church in Mora with a visiting time 1 hour prior. A light lunch to follow the service. Interment will be in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.
Emma A. (Mohr) Mittelstadt was born July 15, 1926 in Ogilvie, Minnesota to Henry and Emma Mohr. In 1934, the family moved to Bricelyn, Minnesota. Emma attended a county school west of their home in Brush Creek Township. She went to high school in Bricelyn and graduated in 1944.
Emma was confirmed at the North Blue Earth Lutheran Church near Brush Creek Township. Emma married Louis Mittelstadt on April 27, 1947. They farmed in the Bricelyn/Frost area before moving to Hoffman, Minnesota. Emma was a farmer’s wife and worked side by side with Louis on the farm. She was a faithful believer and read her Bible daily, even after almost going blind. She read her Bible front to back many times.
She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, playing cards, watching the MN Twins, word search puzzles, birds and going on rides with Louie.
Emma passed away on January 13, 2024 in Mora, Minnesota at the age of 97 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis; all of her siblings and spouses; sons-in-law, Daniel Schuttler, Rev. Scott Muehlberg; and one grandson-in-law, Chris Tindal.
She is survived by her children; Diane Schuttler of St. Cloud, Janet Muehlberg of Mora; 4 grandchildren, Steven (Tiffany) Schuttler of Peoria, AZ, Michael Muehlberg of Brainerd, Sue (Jamie) Tindal of Ramsey, and Amy (Travis) Olson of Hugo; great-grandchildren; Daniel, Evelyn, Evan, Chandler, Katelynn, Chloe, Caleb, Maddlynn, Kaylee, Lucy, and Max; extended grandchildren; Joshua and Brittany; 2 great-great grandchildren, Brynleigh and Bentley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Emma was the kindest, gentle spirit lady I met. I admired how she read the Bible using a special machine to help her see the words. Sometimes reading a letter at a time – incredible! How amazing to think she is now glorifying God I surrounded by His Almighty presence!
