Lois J. D’Aigle-Timm, age 88, of Cambridge died March 4, 2024 at Ecumen North Branch. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 14th at Cambridge Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Lois Jeanne D’Aigle Timm was born March 7, 1935, in Minneapolis, MN to Lawrence and Lillian Haley. She was the oldest of four children, and helped raise her three siblings, Jack, Carol, and Tom. Born to a Baptist father and Catholic mother, she embarked on a new path in her teen years after coming to the realization that the good-looking men in her community attended her local Lutheran church. After graduating from North Minneapolis High School, she joined the workforce at Standard Oil and Honeywell, where she met her first husband, Gary D’Aigle.
In 1954, Lois and Gary were wed and together they raised four children, Daniel, David, Denise, and Douglas. They moved to Cambridge in 1970, where Lois laid down roots as a proud community member and business owner, operating a successful motel in Cambridge for several years. During this time, she was a member of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce and became the first woman to be elected President of the Minnesota Motel Association. On June 29, 1982, Lois married her childhood friend, Marvin Timm. They were married until her death, and together their blended family included nine children as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lois was a woman of honesty, resilience, and quick wit. She shared with her family and friends her love of God, baking, music, storytelling, and games (even though she refused to let any of her grandchildren cheat). She sang in the Cambridge Lutheran Choir and traveled all over Minnesota with her family and husband in search of the best ice cream. A great host of parties and a dedicated mother, she was so committed to her children that she almost forgot her trousers while rushing out the door to attend one of her son’s football games. She often remarked on her attractive and sassy family, which she attributed to her good genes. Lois cherished one-on-one time with her loved ones, and treasured outings with her friends, Marilyn Benting, Barb Guetschoff, and Patricia Anderson.
Lois passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024, at Ecumen North Branch at the age of 88 years. Lois was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Tom; and sister, Carol.
Her life is celebrated by her husband, Marvin; brother, Jack (Karen); children, Daniel (Doreen), David (Julie), Denise (Scott), and Douglas (Shelly); grandchildren, Steven (Jill), Danelle (Manuel), Dana (Branden), Joseph (Laura), Justin (Veronica), Morghan (Nathan), Garrett, Alexcee (Evan), and Kelsey (Jay); stepdaughters, Dawn, Sherrie, Roxann, Anita, and Tami; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
We appreciate your support and welcome you to celebrate Lois’s big and unforgettable spirit with us.

I’ve known Lolo since 1973 time frame. She was my mom away from Mom. My mother passed a couple years later. It was very hard on me, but Lolo was always there. Giving me the stink eye when i deserved it. My heart goes out to Dan, David, Denise and Doug. I have been trying to celebrate her life as she was certainly full of life. She was the best!

I want to send my Condolence’s to lois family. I know some of my boys went to school with her son’s. Lois was my neighbor and I will sadly miss her. I always would see her bright light at night from my bedroom to know she and her husband were there. It will be sad now. A lovely and kind lady.
