Ryan Joseph Long, age 36, of Stanchfield died May 27, 2024 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday, June 3rd at New Hope Community Church – Cambridge Campus. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ryan (Bubba) Joseph Long was born September 26, 1987 in Coon Rapids, Minnesota to Joe and Jo Ann (Fry) Long. He grew up and attended school in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge-Isanti High School in 2006. After high school, Ryan was trained as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Central Lakes College. He worked as a trucker for over five years. Ryan worked most recently as a PCA. He was a gentle, easy-going, caring person that would do anything for anyone.
Ryan enjoyed 4-wheeling, boating, hunting, traveling, trap shooting, playing cribbage, music, playing guitar, and sitting in his favorite spot at his childhood home…the front porch swing. He had a great panoramic view at his home and he loved watching sunsets, looking for shooting stars, and hoping to catch a great show of Northern Lights. He was a great cook, especially when it came to grilling/smoking. His BBQ ribs were so good and frequently requested by his family. He attended New Hope Community Church and recently became a member.
During his last days, we witnessed the magnitude of his impact on those who knew him. When the word went out that he was in the hospital, over 30 friends and family members filled the visiting room to be there for him. One friend traveled four hours each way to see him, and another friend played guitar for him. Other friends stayed as long as they could with him, even overnight. He was truly loved by everyone that met him.
Ryan passed away May 27, 2024 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital after a brief illness at the age of 36 years, 8 months and 1 day. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Mildred Long and Jack and Donna Fry.
Ryan will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Joe and Jo Ann; brother, Clint (Bri) Long; sister, Emily (Mike) Dahlheim; friend Nick; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

How this impacts me, and yet, I know God is good and can be trusted completely. My heart aches so much because I can easily put myself in your shoes. I pray your hearts will remain open to God and your faith will not be shaken.

Ryan was always the most kind hearted person in the room & a joy to be around. I am so very grateful to have seen him twice visiting here in Nevada after growing up together in church. I am steadily praying there is no doubt in anyone’s mind he is in heaven & my thoughts go out to all of you family and friends I know whom miss him dearly.
Joel Pennington says
