Paul Richard Jacobson, age 83, of Cedar died June 19, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. Private family services will be held.
Paul Richard Jacobson, 83, of East Bethel, MN, passed away on June 19, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on February 15, 1941, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, to Carl and Clara Jacobson, Paul graduated from Hampton High School in Iowa and completed two years of post-secondary education. He proudly served for two years in the United States Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
On January 16, 1965, Paul married the love of his life, Janet Anderson. They spent 59 years together, filled with joy and love, building a home in East Bethel, MN, where they raised their two sons, Michael and Matthew.
Paul worked at the Twin Cities Arsenal Plant, then moved to Bituminous, and eventually served as a Correctional Officer for Anoka County for 16 years before retiring in 2003. He loved spending time with his family and taking trips to Duluth with Jan to watch the long ships on Lake Superior. Paul had a passion for tinkering and working on various projects, always being the first to start and the last to quit. He worked hard and kept busy, cutting, splitting, and stacking wood, up until the very end of his life.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Clara Jacobson. He is survived by his wife, Janet Jacobson; his brother Earl (Barb) Jacobson; his sons, Michael P. Jacobson (Rachel Lundeen) and Matthew J. Jacobson (Faye Fleyot); and his four grandchildren, Emelia Jacobson, Case Jacobson, Oliver Jacobson, and Piper Jacobson.
Paul will always be remembered and never forgotten. Rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss
Charlene Jacobson says
My earliest memories of Paul will be the ones I share with his grandkids. The best memories are of the few moments when there was no one else around and no pressure to make anyone else happy, little talks at the kitchen table and simply seeing him being himself. My sympathies to those who feel his loss the most. Former daughter-in-law.
