Charles “Chuck” Erickson, age 81 of Isanti, died on July 1, 2024 at Homestead of Anoka. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, July 26th at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti. A lunch and time to visit will follow the service. Interment will be held at Karmel Cemetery with immediate family on a prior date.
Charles Glenn Erickson was born June 21,1943 to Victor and Marcella (Benson) Erickson in Princeton, MN. He lived on his family farm in Carmody-Dalbo. He attended a country school in Carmody where he met his future wife, Barbara Anderson. He attended Princeton High School and on to Dunwoody Institute studying auto mechanic. He then worked at his family’s business, Vic’s Service Station in Dalbo. He also volunteered at the Fire Department in Dalbo. He reconnected with Barbara and they were married August 25, 1962. They had a wonderful three-week honeymoon out west and into Mexico. They lived at one of Barbara’s parent’s cabins on Spectacle Lake, then to Goldenwood, Cambridge and Dalbo. Their first daughter, Shelley was born March 20, 1964. In 1966 they bought Barbara’s parent’s home in St. Francis, MN. Their 2nd daughter, Kimberly was born July 1, 1967. While in St. Francis, Chuck worked at the Twin City Arsenal and St. Francis Police Reserve and Fire Department. He then went to work for American Freight and Hyman Freight. In 1979 they moved to their dream home in Isanti on Barb’s grandparent’s family farm on the Rum River. Chuck worked in Trucking until his stroke in 1998. Chuck had a passion for WWII history, traveling out west numerous times and especially loved Arizona. Charles and Barbara celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary last August.
Chuck passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Tyler John Nelson. Chuck is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Shelley (John) Nelson and Kimberly (Bill) Nelson; grandchildren, Christen, Nicole, Samantha, Alexis, Jessica (Jon); great-grandchildren, Logan, Isaac, Jace, Jaida, Addyson and Jaxton.
