Virginia “Ginger” Grell, age 86, of Cambridge died August 24, 2024 at Rosewood Senior Living. A private family graveside service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery, Rush Point.
Virginia “Ginger” Irene Grell was born October 14, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Gustave and Anna (Steinhilpert) Lamberg. She grew up on Rush Haven Resort in Stanchfield, Minnesota and attended school in Braham. On November 12, 1955 she married Eugene “Gene” Grell at Calvary Lutheran Church, Rush Point. Ginger loved her family. They were all so good at visiting her, but the hard part was she never wanted them to leave. After having a stroke, she spent the last 2 1/2 years at Rosewood Senior Living where she met many wonderful friends and was taken very good care of. When visiting her there, the kids always knew they’d be watching the QVC channel. She loved to shop and even in the last few years, when she wasn’t shopping, she still watched the channel. Her family will miss her very much and were blessed to call her Mom.
Ginger passed away August 24, 2024 at Rosewood Senior Living in Cambridge at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 10 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, and sister, Joanne Lamberg.
She will be lovingly remembered by her five children, Roger Grell (Suzi Bittner), Larry (Kathy) Grell, Jeri (John) Lee, Brian (Karen) Grell, and Kevin Grell (Carol Foss); grandchildren, Tiffany (Tom) Carey, Alex (Britt) Grell, Jenna (Brian) Richardson, Broc (Heather) Grell, Ashley Grell (Steve Merino), Kaitlyn Grell, Amber Grell, Kyle Grell, Casey (Tara) Grell and Jordan Lee; step-grandchildren, Maggie (Josh) Wiederin, Molly (Luke) Luther, Ryan (Alma) Foss and Kyle (Kendra) Foss; great-grandchildren, Oliver Grell, Gus Richardson, Nate Grell, Hattie Richardson and Caden Grell; step-great-grandchildren, Kellen Wiederin, Claire Wiederin, Cash Luther, Cecily Wiederin, Roman Luther and Fiadh Foss; and by many other relatives and friends.

Iit has been several years since I had an opportunity to give her a bad time at the Creamery Crossing where she loved visiting. She always wanted to sit on the top along the rail and loved to visit. She was a great lady that will be missed by many. Oh, thanks Roger for taking her out so she could brighten our day at the Creamery.
Will be thinking of you during these difficult days.

Hard to believe you’re gone. As my Godmother and ‘Auntie’, which you insisted I must always address you as in greeting cards, you were a very big part of my life! You always loved family get togethers for any reason or no reason at all and I have all the memories of them and the things you did for me. I thank you for that and pray that you have painless peace. Love you Auntie Ginger. Mary (Lamberg) King
