Lisa Kay Anderson, age 66, of Cambridge passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids on Tuesday, October 29th after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday, November 7th at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lisa’s name to the Minneapolis Metsquerade or the International Institute of Minnesota.
Lisa was born March 14th, 1958 to her parents Charles Olson and Delight (Barnes) Olson in Columbia Heights, MN – the youngest of five kids. She graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1976, and then attended school to become a dental assistant. She worked as a dental assistant for 15 years, with most of career being at Foley Dental Office in Coon Rapids, MN.
It was at that job where she met her boss’ brother, Brian Anderson. Brian and Lisa began dating and moved to Cambridge where Brian began his dental practice. They got married in 1988. In 1993, Lisa gave birth to their only child, Heidi.
Once Heidi was born, Lisa became a stay-at-home mom. Not only did Lisa take care of Heidi while she was growing up, she also provided care and support to her aging mother.
Lisa’s favorite things to do were watch Twins games, go on walks with her many dogs, and travel. One of her favorite trips was to Japan, where Heidi lived for over a year. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.
Lisa is preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Vernon Lodge, and her beloved dog Cuddy. She is survived by her husband Brian, daughter Heidi, brothers Wayne, Chuck (Barb), sisters Jan (Tim) and Dawn (Daryle), and many nieces and nephews.
Love you so much Auntie Lisa. The toughest lady I know.
Our sincere and heartfelt condolences. Sixty-six is much too young. May the good Lord keep her and care for her until we all meet up again.
Lisa, you will be dearly missed by us both and we thank you for all you have done to welcome us into your Family.
Brian’ and Heidi, our thoughts are with you daily and despite the distance are here for you both. Our condolences to Wayne, Chuck, Jan, Dawn and our extended American family.
All our love
