Ila Mae Baker was born November 22, 1932 in Cedar, Minnesota to August and Clara (Howe) Henrikson. Ila started dancing in grade school and learned to play the piano by ear, sing and yodel, and she knew the words to many of the old country classic songs. Ila was still dancing at the age of 85. She married Virgil Baker and they raised their family in East Bethel. Ila was involved in the East Bethel community for most of her life. Ila worked in the kitchen at St. Francis Middle School for many years. She was a great baker and made the best banana bread and she made a loaf for all of her grandkids for Christmas, it was their favorite gift. She was spunky and had a great sense of humor. Ila loved flower gardening, feeding the birds and she hunted deer five years, shooting five deer.
She is survived by three children, LeRoy Baker, Barbara Larson and Larry Baker; sister-in-law, Mary Henrikson; five grandchildren, Erik, Amanda, Amie, Cory and Lindsey; nine great-grandchildren, Faith, Dominic, Abigail, Olivia, Spencer, Ryan, Hailey, Emily and Ila; three great-great-grandchildren, Kingston, Asher and Harlyn; and by other relatives and friends. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; daughter, Betty; two infants; siblings, Dean Henrikson, Edward Henrikson, Ellen Baker and Dorothy Jones; and brothers-in-law, Marv Baker and Dude Jones.
She was a wonderful lady, I’ll miss her. So sorry LeRoy 💔🙏
Ila came to my exercise classes at GracePointe, I so enjoyed her. I would play old time music and she would sing along and even yodel for us when asked.
Such a sweet lady.
We will miss her.

Ila was such a spunky lady! So full of life and vigor. I was glad I got to know her; I know her kids and her Grands meant the world to her. She will be missed by so many. My sympathy to the Baker Family.
Ila was not only spunky but she had gumption. She would get this little twinkle in her eye & I always knew she had something mischievous going on in her mind. Whether she’d shared it or not was another matter. I valued her friendship & am going to miss her dearly. She will forever be in my heart.
So many fond memories of when we were young. Sorry to hear of your mom’s passing although it sounds like she enjoyed living life to the fullest with you and your families. May Ila Rest In Peace and God Bless you all.
