Rebekah was born on October 11, 1967 to Richard “Dick” and Sharon “Joy” Scott, in Houston, Texas. She attended St. Cloud State and graduated with her Master of Science in Education. Rebekah married Scott Peterson on November 18, 1995 and they had 4 children, Madalyn, Samuel, Noah, and Levi. She worked as a 1st grade teacher at Isanti Primary School. Rebekah loved reading and studying the Bible, worshiping the Lord, spending time with her family and friends, golfing with her husband and children, coloring with her family, going on walks and bike rides with her husband among countless other things.
Rebekah is survived by husband, Scott; children, Madalyn (Erik), Samuel, Noah (Shiri), Levi; grandson; Malachi; siblings, Richard, Mark, Matthew (Cami), Melody; mother, Sharon “Joy” Raber; many nieces & nephews; and great nieces & nephews.
I worked with Rebekah for many years when she was a special education teacher. She was a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher who loved her students and they loved her back. Rebekah brought much joy to those who knew her. She will be missed greatly as she was true blessing to many!
I worked with Rebekah for years at CIS when she was a SPED teacher. She was an amazing boss and incredible teacher. I learned so much from her. I remember when she got her first diagnosis, got well, came back to work with a skip in her step and a new zest for life. She was the first person I knew to go vegan and had the Sped staff over for an amazing dinner! She had such a contagious laugh and a deep love for her family, Jesus and her life. I’m so glad that God put her in my life for those years. And I’m grateful that she’s now walking streets of gold with Jesus right now! No more pain, only peace and beauty! ❤️🩹
Rebekah was Jesus with skin on for me and countless others in need of love. My broken mess of a life attracted her to me. I learned from her mom that even as a little girl Rebekah would bring home stray animals and people. Anyone who needed a meal, a hug, a place to stay; a friend.
Rebekah found me in a church lobby in 2004 sensing a broken, lost, stray… asked me if I needed a hug then never let go. She referred to me as her best friend and made me feel loved as I never had. She walked through life with me. She taught me about Jesus. She never judged or shamed me, just loved!!!
Because she discipled me well I can now carry on the love and teachings of Jesus to others. This I think is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To disciple and share in the gift of forgiveness and grace. I believe that Rebekah’s purpose in this life was satisfied and that she will eternally live and I will live with her. As will all of you who faithfully follow Jesus. Remember there will be a great falling away of the faith (the great apostasy). I pray that anyone who reads this will study what that means, and cling to Jesus as the only One to follow in the days ahead. Many false teachers will come. Do NOT be deceived.
Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. John 11:25-26.
“the sufferings of this present age are not worth comparing with the glory that shall be revealed to us” Romans 8:18.
Stand firm! Trust in Jesus. Let Rebekah’s LIFE be remembered as living for Jesus. She was a good and faithful servant!

What an incredible God loving woman and friend Rebecca was to all. She was a very important and impactful person on our journey with our daughter Joclynn. Joclynn was lucky to have her as a teacher. I was absolutely blessed to call her friend. I am more than grateful that I got to spend such a heartwarming bittersweet visit with her in December. Thanks for everything Bekah! Lifting your family up in prayers. Until we meet again.
Sharon & family, so sorry for your loss. Rebekah (Becky) was a next door neighbor to me and my family growing up in Blaine, MN. She babysat us but also took time to just hang out with my sister and me. She had a big heart and showed that every day. May your memories of her and your faith help you in this difficult time.
Rebekah was a very special woman and friend. Never afraid to praise her Jesus in front of anyone. She will truly be missed. She taught me a lot. So very sad for this loss. But we all know where she is – with her best friend Jesus. Looking forward to meeting up with her again one day in heaven. Rebekah, I love you. 💕💕💕
She was amazing, my son would not be as high functioning as he is with out her help. She will be very missed!
Rebekah was my coworker who hired me for my first job; to work with her at CIS. Then after, it seemed that I followed her to IPS! I worked with her for 12 years as a teacher and she is one of the most beautiful, strong, loving, caring, helpful, faithful, and amazing people I’ve ever known. I am truly blessed to have been touched by her kindness and faith. She really has been an inspiration in my life. Just as she did for everyone who was able to know her.
Prayers of peace through the family’s loss of Rebekah.
She truly is an angel.
We came to know Rebekah through Fish Lake Resort. Laura, the owner, is our niece. Through our brief encounters with her there, we could see what a special person she was and we feel so lucky to have gotten to know her. Our son has Down Syndrome and she was especially attentive to him, always giving him a hug. We attended a benefit for her at the resort last year and it was a testimony to how much she was loved by the number of people who were there. We will always remember Rebekah, and when we do we will smile. Our sympathy goes out to her husband and children. May God comfort you and hold you in the palm of his hand through this difficult time.

I spent the summer with Rebekah when she was an enthusiastic, energetic, 11 year old. In adulthood she did not change. This was probably why she could relate to small children so well. She was one of a kind! I admired her boldness and ability to share the love of Jesus naturally with whoever crossed her path. I was blessed to be her Aunt Carol
So thankful You are no longer in pain or discomfort, Rebekah.
Rebekah was always someone I looked forward to speaking with at long ago family occasion’s.
So sweet kind and engaged no matter the time between.
Sorry to have heard the news about her passing here but a blessing to know it is her home-going to be with the Lord and loved ones passed.
Prayers for Scott and children and all who loved her.
So sorry for the loss of Rebekah, such a sweet kind person but lost touch over the years.
Prayers and healing hearts to all of the family and friends
Rebekah was a kind and caring teacher at Isanti Primary. She was my 1st grade teacher. We always called her Ms. Bekah and she loved it. I can’t believe she’s left us all too soon. My condolences to her family.
I worked with Rebekah at CIS, so I know that this is such a huge loss to you. What an irreplaceable, special, loving person–truly one of a kind. I know you know that. But I also know that our God is faithful. The grace you need to get through this—His grace is and will be sufficient. He is trustworthy. Praying that His grace comforts you and His peace surrounds you. He will carry you through even this.
