Waldo W. Slagerman, age 90, of Cambridge and formerly of St. Paul passed away peacefully January 10, 2025 at home. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4 PM – 7 PM Friday, January 17th at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
Waldo was preceded in death by wife, Barbara; wife, Jackie; and brother, Tom. He is survived by sons, James, John (Amy), and Joseph (Mich); grandchildren, Tina, Cassie, Tyler, Whitney, Wesley, Raeh and Joely; great-grandchildren, Aspen, Jameson, Cadee, Kaylee, Avery, Maddy; and many Relatives and close friends.
Ty, Aspen and family, we didn’t personally know your grandfather, but we know how hard it is to loose those very close to us. We will be praying you can find some peice in the grief. Hang in there!
It took me until I was 30 to call Waldo by his first name instead of “Mr. Slagerman” – he just commanded that kind of respect from when I met him in 2nd grade and beyond.
Through my friendship with John and Joe, and then buying Barb and Waldo’s house – I was very fortunate to spend time with him and enjoyed his counsel as I got older in life. It would start with “Know what I think,….” and end with some good advice.
Thank you for the great influence on my life.
Sharon and I have been friends with Wally for many years. Wally and I have helped each other on many projects over the years, we have vacationed together and golfed together many times. He was one of my closest friends. He will be sorely missed.
