Rynard Eugene “Gene” Shofner, age 85, of East Bethel, Minnesota, passed away February 18th, 2025. A celebration of life will be planned for later this year. Brittany will post the information on Facebook.
Gene was born December 16th, 1939, along with twin brother Jerry, in Park Rapids, Minnesota to Olga and Rynard Shofner
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Alice M Shofner, his parents, and his siblings: Allen “Mike” Shofner, Edna Smith, Jerry (Carol) Shofner, Donna (Ralph) Wimer, James “Jim” (Jo Ann) Shofner, and Howard (Judy) Shofner.
He is survived by his Daughter Becky (Harrold), Son Scott, Grandchildren Christopher (Danielle) Shofner, Brittany (Shawn) Thielen, Great-Grandson Winston & Great-Grandchild Baby Thielen due in April.
Also survived by Brothers and Sisters: Bard (Vicky) Shofner, Barbara (Ronald) Johnson, Caroline (John) Mistelske, Russell (Debbie) Shofner, Elizabeth Morlang, Sheryl Juetten, Laurie (Paul) Pierce. And many cherished Nieces, Nephews, and close Friends.
Former long-time employee of Dayton Rogers Manufacturing, Rynard had many stories to tell about his co-worker friends and he never forgot any of them.
