Shirley (Brown) Krone was born in November 1935, to David R. Brown and Edith (Gronau) Brown in Sisseton, SD. She spent her childhood and attended school in and around Sisseton.
In August of 1953, she married LaVern Krone and they initially settled in Browns Valley, MN, where they welcomed four children. Later, they relocated to Minneapolis, where Shirley held various jobs. Eventually, they moved to Isanti, MN, creating a lovely home in a century-old farmhouse. Shirley cherished gardening, birdwatching, thrifting, and decorating their warm home. Together, they took many vacation trips visiting various US states, first with their children and later as a couple, making lasting memories. Traditions were the foundation of her family, as keeping them close was always so important to her.
She was preceded in death by her son, LaVern “Boon” Jr.
Those who will cherish her memory include her husband, LaVern; their daughters LaVonn Nordeen, Sheryl (Tom) Jones, and LaDonna (Steve) Claseman; along with their grandchildren Shawna Hedberg, Alicia Jones, Nicholas Jones, and April (Josh) Marty; and great-grandchildren Bailey Jones, Elijah Jones, Desirae Hedberg, Emiliana Jones, Nina Marty, Nathan Marty, and Myles Delling. She is survived by two siblings, Arleen Julius and David Brown.
I used to spend weeks with the family at their home in Browns Valley. Shirley was always so nice & kind to me, as was the rest of the family. Healing has no timeline and it is so very hard to lose a mother & wife.
Sweet Shirley, Such a kind, gentle, beautiful soul. RiP with you son and all who have passed before you. I can imagine quite a reunion. Much love to Laverne and Lavonn, and all the family .
Goodbye Aunt Shirley.
Your work on earth is done.
Go rest with the angels.
I will miss exchanging Christmas cards with you every year.
Enjoyed bringing Robert and Arleen to visit in Minnesota such special memories – Aunt Shirley had such a kind and gentle spirit, will treasure those memories forever🌹
