Rebecca “Becky” Ann Johnson was born March 27, 1948 in Pensacola, Florida to Robert Ryan and Agnes “Toots” Fetterley (née Girard). Raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota she was the oldest of eight children and remembered fondly her close relationship with her mother throughout her childhood years. On June 7, 1975 she married Curt Edward Johnson. They made their home on Emerson Street in North Minneapolis before moving to Cambridge, Minnesota in 1991 where they would spend the rest of her years together. Becky took pride in being a homemaker to her three daughters and then again to several grandchildren, and always said Family was most important above all else. She was most often found outside tending her flowers and garden, with her trusty little sidekick, Jody. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, the glue of her family and will be dearly missed by those that knew her.
After a long battle with multiple cancers, Becky passed away on December 22, 2024 at home surrounded by family at the age of 76 years, 8 months, 26 days. She was preceded in death by both parents; sisters, Karen Kunkel and Linda Ryan; and brothers, Patrick and Michael Ryan.
She is survived by husband, Curt Johnson; three sisters, Colleen (Jerry) Jirovec, Laura Widell, and Sheila Matthews; daughters, Melissa Johnson, Jackie Lesperance, and Sheree Johnson; granddaughters, Ashley Johnson, Nicky (Eric) Meline, Casey Peterson, Nealey (Sean) Pitoscia, Nik (Ashley) Kuykendall, Ryan Kuykendall, and Darrin (Nikki) Johnson; 13 great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.
