Dennis P. Mattson, age 69, of Cambridge passed away unexpectedly July 13, 2025 at home. A memorial service to honor Dennis will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 2nd, at Strike Life Tributes in ISANTI. Friends and family are invited to gather one hour prior to the service for visitation. Following the service, all are welcome to join us for a heartfelt celebration of life luncheon at the River House.
Born on July 19, 1955, in Braham, Minnesota, Dennis was the beloved son of Glenn and Dorothy (Schwartz) Mattson. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1973. Known for his spirited nature, Dennis often brought a playful sense of mischief to his endeavors, leaving lasting impressions on both his friends and family. From a young age, Dennis developed a strong work ethic, beginning his career as a carpenter alongside his father and brother, skills that would stay with him throughout his life.
A passionate outdoorsman, Dennis found joy in fishing the Rum River, snowmobiling, skiing, and woodworking. He also cherished his time spent with family and friends, joining the local Trapp League to share his love of shooting. Above all, Dennis cherished the time he spent with his son and his grandchildren, who brought him great joy and pride.
Dennis will be lovingly remembered by his son, Corbin (Alyssa) Mattson; his two beautiful grandchildren, McKenna and Wyatt; and his siblings, Deuane (Diane) Mattson, Annette (Tim) Akers, Dan (Lucy) Mattson, and Karen (Joe) Grover. He is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss his sense of humor and lightheartedness.
In celebrating Dennis’s life, we remember his kind spirit, his laughter, and the memories we created together. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever remain in our hearts.
It is with a sad heart to hear of Dennis’s passing. My condolences to Dennis’s family and friends.
RIP my friend, I sure wish I could have done more! You will be missed more than you will ever know.
My condolences Dennis was such a big part of my life as all of you were.
Go rest high on the mountain my friend. The winter after graduation Dennis and I went skiing in Colorado, spent most days skiing out of bounds. We were so exhausted we had to crawl up the stairs to the condo where we were staying . Unfortunately life happens and we lost touch with each other. Still one of my favorite memories
I am so sorry to hear this. I remember many nights during high school with Dennis, just looking for fun and usually finding it! Remembering him with gratitude🩵
