Brenda S. Kersten, age 76, of Isanti passed away August 16, 2025 at home. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 PM Friday, August 22nd at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti.
Brenda Suzanne Kersten was born February 14, 1949 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota to Milan and Muriel (Oswald) Schulz. She was raised and attended school in Osseo, graduating from Osseo High School in 1967. On January 27, 1968 Brenda married Jerald “Jerry” Kersten at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Corcoran, Minnesota. In 1973 they moved to Isanti where they lived their lives for the last 52 years.
Brenda dedicated her life in creating a warm and nurturing home. Together they raised three children, Joseph, Angela and Jonathan. Brenda was a wonderful devoted mother who was always there for her children offering support, wisdom and love. She treasured her time with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She never missed the opportunity to support them by attending sporting events, concerts, recitals and school functions. Brenda’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Her holiday gatherings were simply the best and eagerly anticipated by all who attended.
Brenda was a loyal employee of REO Plastics in Maple Grove for 50 years and continued to work full time into her retirement years stating she enjoyed socializing with her coworkers. Brenda enjoyed cooking, baking, camping with family and friends. She was a dear friend. Always dependable and supportive. Brenda was a strong, loving and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
Brenda passed away August 16, 2025 peacefully at home at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 2 days. She is preceded in death by her parents Milan and Muriel Schulz.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Jerry; children Joe (Yemi) Kersten, Angela Nelson and Jon (Darla) Kersten; brothers, Tom (Nancy) Schulz, Paul (Meg) Schulz and Michael Schulz; grandchildren, Evan, Hayley, Ryan, Willa, Travis, Troy, Jader, Cody (Megan), Dustin and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
My dearest friend I will miss you forever, You were one of the most amazing person who could just say what was on her mind and I would say that is just Brenda. She always made my day and made people laugh. She was a generous and loving person. I love you and know you will go straight to heaven. Rest now in the arm of the lord.
Grateful for the time we had together together. Sharing laughs, frustrations and always there for one another. A wonderful coworker and kind friend that I will forever miss.
Oh my dear Brenda you will be so missed! Many years of working together and having fun! Life takes us in many different directions but I will always have my fond memories of my time with you ❤️ You have your angel wings!!!! Go tell them like it is!!! Prayers for peace and healing for your family!! Rest in peace and glory my dear friend 🧡

Brenda, I remember when I first started at REO, I kind of looked to you for guidance. Because you were one of the youngest people there (lol)and I was just starting out. You were ready to help anyone who needed it. I left REO 7 years ago, and you were truly one of the people I missed. God Bless your family that you loved so much. I’m sure you’re with God now, and he’ll show you the ropes, kind of like you did with me. RIP my friend you deserve it. Linda
