Dawn Marie (Johnson) Bell passed away peacefully at age 65 on August 25, 2025. A visitation and celebration of Dawn’s life will be held on Friday, September 5, from 3:00–6:00 p.m. at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge, MN. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather, share memories, and honor the incredible woman she was.
Dawn was born August 11, 1960 in Cambridge, Minnesota to Gene Johnson and Carol (Hjelm) Brown. She graduated from Cambridge High School and married Todd Treichel in 1978. Together they raised a family of two children. Dawn was a proud, loving, and devoted mother.
She had a heart of gold, a gift of gab, and a joyful spirit. Affectionately known as the “Designated DJ,” she had a way of connecting memories and music to create lifelong bonds with loved ones. Dawn was selfless to her core and treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren; family meant everything to her.
She is deeply loved and will be forever remembered by her six sisters (Sheila, Shirley, Lori, Linda, Robin, Kim); son Preston (Sofia); daughter Bri; and her cherished grandchildren Quinn (8), Cullen (6), and Julian (1).
She was preceded in Heaven by her father Gene.
Dawn’s legacy of love, laughter, “corny traditions”, and music will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
So sorry to hear about Dawn. So many good times at Mille Lacs,
Music, boating, bonfires and fun. Thoughts and prayers.
So sorry to hear of Dawn’s passing. Thoughts and prays are with the family. I was a high school classmate and I haven’t seen her in years but I remember her as someone that brightened the room with her warmth and personality when she was around. Lots of good old memories.
We were so sorry to hear of Dawn’s passing. We met her during her time in Cape Coral and enjoyed the times we spent with her at Sheila and Shirley’s house. Our condolences to all her family.
My deepest sympathy to all who loved Dawn, especially Preston and Bri. Dawn was a dear friend but we had lost touch after Steve and I moved to Alaska. I reached out to Dawn on her birthday and we planned a phone conversation. I talked with her for over 2 hours just two weeks ago today. We had promised to make it a regular thing. I just can’t believe she’s gone.
We are so sorry to hear of Dawn’s passing. She was a bright light gone too soon and her smile is one we will always remember. Love and prayers to Shirley, Sheila, and all the family.
Our deepest condolences to the family specially to Shirley, Sheila, Preston and Bri who we know and spent time with. Dawn will be missed. RIP
From England: met Dawn and family decades ago in Mps, and have had regular life updates from her sisters Shirley & Sheila.
Condolences to Preston & Bri & families.
Remembering Dawn with warmth and kindness. I first met her many years ago through my dear friends Sheila and Shirley, and I will always remember her with respect and affection. My thoughts are with all her family.
So sorry to hear of her passing . We went to school together and had many memories and fun times. Prayers and thoughts to her family.
We met Dawn in Cape Coral at her sisters Thanksgiving and a few times after that. Such a nice girl she was. Sorry to hear she has passed. RIP Dawn. We will remember you.
My thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences go out to the family in this time of loss.
I met Dawn when she was in Cape Coral. She was a lovely lady and I am so glad to have met her. My sincere condolences to her entire family.
I worked with Dawn for many years and she was a very special friend to me. She gave the best advice…I could always count on her when I needed some.
I remember telling her to start a “Dear Dawn” (like Dear Abby) advice column because she was so wise and always seemed to know exactly what I needed to hear.
She also loved to talk about her kids and grandkids. She loved them dearly and was very proud of them.
I’m so very sorry that Dawn’s physical presence has left this world. She was a great friend with a warm hearted spirit, wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile. I know her best qualities will live on in those of us that were inspired by her. Sending my deepest sympathies to her loving family.
