
Joyce Elizabeth Johnson, age 56 of Isanti, passed away on August 25, 2025. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at First Baptist Church, 304 Main Street South, Cambridge, MN 55008, on Saturday, September 6, 2025. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m., with refreshments and graveside burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made either to Ronnie or to Celebrate Recovery in Joyce’s memory. Donations to Celebrate Recovery can be sent to First Baptist Church, 304 Main Street South, Cambridge, MN 55008.
Joyce Elizabeth Johnson
April 29, 1969 – August 25, 2025
Joyce was born on April 29, 1969, at Cambridge Medical Center to Rallon and Stella Tews. She spent her early years in Cedar, MN, before moving with her family to Ogilvie, MN. Joyce graduated from Ogilvie High School in 1988 and later graduated from broadcasting school in Duluth, MN in 1990.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Rallon and Stella Tews; her brothers, Gary Tews and Robert Tews; and her niece, Heidi Tews.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronnie Johnson, with whom she shared a loving marriage of 29 years. Joyce was a proud and caring mother to her daughters, Nadine (Jorge) Johnson and Savannah (Alex) Willard. She was also a beloved dog mom to Magic Johnson and doting dog-grandmother to Kaia Willard, along with several precious guinea pigs. Joyce is further survived by her brothers, Aaron (Debbie) Tews, David (Carol) Tews, and Owen Tews; her sister, Carol (Tim) Slater; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Joyce had a deep passion for Celebrate Recovery, where she shared her testimony and was a guiding light for others on their healing journeys.
She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
So sorry to hear of Joyce’s passing. She was too young. My deepest sympathy to you all.
I knew her mostly while she was a teenager and look forward to seeing her in Heaven….A lot of people cross our paths during this earth journey and some will always hold good memories like she did in my life.
Joyce will be missed by many. She was kind, friendly, and supportive. I knew her from girl scouts.
