Scott E. Hammer, age 60, of Isanti died unexpectedly October 13, 2025 at home. Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 8th at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti with a visitation held one hour prior.
Scott was born on May 3, 1965 in Duluth, MN where he grew up and graduated from Duluth Denfeld High School in 1983. He enlisted in the US Army and served his country for 4 years in Heidelberg, Germany. While there he met and married Monika Thaler in April of 1990. They had 2 daughters together, Michelle and Jennifer. Scott’s military training included working as an engineer on electrical systems and as a heavy equipment operator. After completing his 4 years in the Army, he was honorably discharged having earned the rank SPC/E4. He remained in Germany with his family until 2003 working for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). In 2003, he returned to Minnesota and began a new career as a commercial truck driver. He worked for most of the past 22 years for Warning Lights of Minnesota as a heavy equipment operator working on road construction projects. He was loved and respected for his hard work and dedication to his job. He used his uncanny ability to figure out complex mechanical problems on a daily basis at work. His smile and laugh will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Donna (Joyal) Hammer. Scott is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Nils) Wollenschlager, Jennifer Hammer all of Germany; brother, Paul Hammer of Superior, WI; and many other family and friends.
Daddy. I love you with all my heart. You are the best dad I could have ever asked for. It’s so hard to say goodbye to someone who’s been there my whole life. Nothing can really prepare you for that. But I know you’ll always be with us, watching over us in your own way. I miss you every single day, Daddy.
Scott I have worked with you 20 some years & you were one of the most kind caring compassionate men I have ever met in my life, Sad to see you not around anymore, I pray that you are at peace now & my thoughts & prayers are with your family. Gone but never will you be forgotten.
Fly high my brother Jewels
Michelle, Jennifer,
Your father was a very good man, and a good friend to those he worked with. Scott took great pride in his work. We miss him and will remember him.
He also spoke with love and pride about his two daughters in Germany. He treasured your visits with him. May his spirit be with you both, always.
Bruce
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I had to announce the passing of my brother Scott. A gentle soul who was loved by many and got along with anyone and everyone he met.
The apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 how we are to BELIEVE in the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and we will be granted a spot in heaven. It almost seems too easy, but that’s what FAITH is all about. So, it brings me peace to know that I will see you again one day my brother, along with Mom and Dad, in Glory.
Goodbye for now. I’m going to miss you very much.
Your loving brother, Paul
On behalf of everyone at Warning Lites, please accept our heartfelt condolences on Scott’s passing. He was a great friend and coworker, and he will be deeply missed.
With warm regards, Pat
To my cousin Scott,
We didn’t grow up in the same town but we spent alot of time together when we were younger. Adulthood and life got in the way of our time together. We hadn’t had a get together in quite a few years even though we talked about it alot—or at least Paul and I did–but we could never coordinate schedules.
You’ll be missed.
To Paul and Scott’s daughters (who I never did get the privilege to meet),
You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
God Bless
Scott came into our lives through Kate. For many years we enjoyed his company at family get togethers. He loved going to Steph & Don’s, especially for Don’s cooking!
Scott was easy to talk to. He was quiet, but once he got going he was all in on the conversation.
My favorite shirt he wore had a crabby-faced cat on it. The saying under it said, “This is my happy face”. Scott pretended that was him but he was really a big softy with a great smile & sense of humor.
He spoiled Sadie dog & she was devoted to him. He taught her commands & tricks & was always ready to reward her with a treat or two.
Scott was what you might say “a security fanatic”. Every time we were at the house he had new gadgets & systems to keep the house/possessions safe. He could explain in more detail than you might want exactly how each new security system/feature worked. He was very mechanically minded.
Scott loved his cars! He took great pride in maintaining them – washing them routinely & protecting them from the elements as much as possible.
Scott told Kate many times after they parted ways that the hardest part for him was not getting to be a part of our family any more.
You are missed Scott!!
Michelle, Jennifer & Paul: You are in our thoughts & prayers.

My Scott memory is being his roomie my first year as a Florida girl living through a Minnesota winter. He gifted me a very fancy ice scraper and shovel to make sure I was safe 🥰 And that he always used to say he hated Sadie the ugly pug with me, but then I’d find them secretly cuddling on the couch.
