Glenn A Brown Sr
Jan 18, 1948 – Nov 26, 2025
Glenn was born January 18, 1948 in Mauston WI. Son of Roy and Bessie (Nelson) Brown.
Glenn attended North St. Paul high school and joined the Air Force in May 1966 serving until November 1969 where he got his GED while in the military.
Glenn had many careers over the years, including owning his own used car lot and trucking dispatch company, but his most proud moments were being in law-enforcement for 27 years. This included being Chief of Police in Rice, MN and ending his career as a Federal Officer for the VA Hospital. He said his favorite by far was being known as The Baker Potato Man for over 30 years, selling at local farmers markets.
He enjoyed many things, including hunting, fishing, playing blackjack, binge watching TV and was a diehard Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins fan. He was a huge admirer of Elvis Presley and through the years even told he resembled him. Glenn definitely enjoyed his rosebushes year after year and was very proud when he got recognition for their beauty especially at the Minnesota State Fair.
The most important thing to Glenn was his family. He loved spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, and even great grandkids. He had great pride in every single one of them and would tell anybody that would listen about their accomplishments.
Glenn will definitely be remembered from anyone he had ever met from a waitress, gas station clerk, medical professional, or customer as the man with the corniest jokes.
Glenn lived well, laughed often and loved deeply.
Glenn was survived by his wife, Brenda, his ex-wife Donna (James) Nieman and his children Glenn Brown Jr of Midlothian VA, Angela (Angel) Doren of Homer, NE, Candice (Punky) (Michael) Haafke of Bronson, IA, Vicky (Chris) Douglas of Shoreview, MN , David Young of Vancouver, WA and Timothy (Nikki) Brown of Blaine, MN.
His 13 grandchildren Ashley, Jenna, Travis, Tighe, Jessica, Emily, Amber, Lucas, Philip, Zachary, Wyatt, Olena and Hazel. Great grandchildren included Weston, Eleanor, Olivia, Charlotte and Baby Gilbertson on the way.
Glenn was proceeded in death by his parents Roy and Bessie Brown and two sisters Brenda Kunert and Betty Schlosser.
Dad I find myself wondering how many jokes you have already shared in heaven. Imagining your reunion with Grandma and Grandpa and Aunts Brenda and Betty make me smile. Most of all I bet Misty has not left your side!!! I miss you already!
Love, Angel
