William “Barber Bill” Dwight Jones
May 22, 1950 – November 16, 2025

Though he lived in Stacy, Minnesota, his true home for the past 47 years was the St. Francis Barber Shop, where he greeted generations of customers with his easy smile, quick wit, and steady hands. Bill was a proud United States Marine, having bravely served in Vietnam. His service shaped the strength and grit that defined him throughout his life.
He leaves behind his daughters Rhonda Landborg, Billi Jo Larson, and Stacy Schmitz; grandsons Levi Landborg and Griffin Larson; his brothers Robert (Judy) Jones and Russell (Lynda) Jones; and his brother-in-law Harold Steenerson. He is also survived by his longtime partner, Vicki Ajax, who was a cherished part of his life. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Dorothy Jones; his siblings Kathy Steenerson and Roger Jones; and his grandson Ryan Lowers.
He lived life with humor, boldness, and an unmistakable twinkle in his eye. Bill loved to gamble, play cribbage, and spend time hunting and fishing—usually with a good story to tell and a laugh ready to follow. He was larger than life.
It’s not gonna be the same in Saint Francis anymore, his barbershop was a kind of a meeting place for a lot of older people to get together and talk about stuff. That’s what barbershops do and it’s just not gonna be the same anymore.
Bill was my cousin and we grew up together in Bethel. We always had a lot of fun as all our cousins grew up around us. I moved to Florida after my husband died and lost contact with most of my cousins but I still have great memories. RIP Bill.
Thank you for your service to our country and to the service and friendship you provided so many of us in St. Francis and surrounding communities. I will miss those quick high and tight cuts I have been getting for the last 25+ years and of course the fast conversations we could get in before running out the door! Rest in peace and God bless.
You were my step uncle – I only had met you a handful of times but you were funny and nice to me and my daughter – you will be missed by many
Bill was the last guy to cut my hair
that was 29 years ago.
i would see him at the VFW

RIP Bill
Have known Bill since I was in high school back in the late 60’s- will never forget when him and Russ got Ronnie noaeill and me out of a ditch after a motorcycle accident and put a couple of beat up kids back on the bike. He’s the only person that ever cut my hair since he opened his shop-gonna miss ya my old friend!
I too was as a patron for 25+ years . We was one of a kind. RIP Bill , you will be missed greatly.
Rhonda and Billie and family. We are so sorry for your loss. Bill was a great friend to us both. For twenty years we celebrated our birthdays together at the legion of course. So many memories. He cut Dennys hair for twenty years,my sons and grandsons
Bill rode my school bus as a kid, along with his brother Bob, my future husband. His nickname was “Greaser Bill” back then. Fond memories of his antics on that bus which provided so many laughs. He recently spent some time with Bob & I at our cabin up north along with his brother Russ. Those few days gave us such precious memories.
Along with his larger than life persona and great wit was a tenderness. He loved sitting on the deck & watching the chipmunks come to our feeder. He said they were such beautiful little creatures. I always referred to him as “Sweet William” after the flowers but don’t know if he ever realized the connection. RIP Sweet William
Bill was fantastic. He’s cut my hair for years, most recently about 2 weeks ago. Was always fun to go in there, never knew which direction the conversation would go. Will definitely miss his quick wit and skills. So sad, condolences to his family.
Sorry to hear of Bills passing. My condolences to the family.
Bill was my barber for 32 years. Even after moving from St. Francis I would still make the drive. Semper Fi Bill, the few the proud.
