In Memory of Theodore “Ted” Erickson

Ted was born January 21, 1933 in Stanford Township, Isanti County, Minnesota to George and Amy (Anderson) Erickson. He attended school in St. Francis and then enlisted in the US Navy. On September 1, 1954 he married Barbara Wirz in Hawaii. They made their home in Hawaii for a year and a half and later in California and then St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1962 they moved to the farm in rural Isanti. Ted worked as an airplane mechanic for Northwest Airlines for 37 years. He also farmed on the side, both with crops and cattle. Ted’s passion was restoring John Deere tractors. Ted and Barb were both active members at Long Lake Lutheran Church.

Ted will be lovingly remembered by his son, Michael (Lynn) Erickson; daughter, Nancy (Ernest) Sandahl; 4 grand-daughters, Heather (Nate) Blue, Sara (Andrew) Stolt, Jennifer Sandahl (James Bennett) and Melissa (Brandon) Johnson; 7 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Eleanor, Finley, Amelia, Griffin, Erick and Nora; and by many other relatives and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; brothers, Kenneth and Curtis; and sister-in-laws, Dorothy and Geraldine.
