Tammy Lea Hanson, 48, of Princeton Minnesota, passed away in her home on January 23, 2026 after enduring ALS for almost four years. A celebration of life will be held during summer 2026.
Tammy was born on June 26, 1977 in Stillwater, Minnesota. Tammy spent most of her adult life in service of others. She raised four children and worked as a Nursing Assistant at Sterling Pointe Senior Living for nearly a decade. She loved nature and animals, especially horses and manatees, and enjoyed spending time outside. Her children and Christian faith were the things she cherished most. Tammy will be remembered for her strong will and caring nature.
She is survived by her children, Blake (Stephanie), Hailey (Zachary), Sierra, and Hayden (Shelby), parents, three siblings, nieces, nephews, one great-niece, and several dear friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Senator Tomassoni Caregiver Support Program to help provide in-home care to others with ALS in Minnesota.
Her final messages are 1) to initiate and spread awareness and advocate for any future legislation in support of death with dignity practices. Her journey with ALS strengthened her support for this, which developed early on during her time in senior care, and 2) to great-niece Haven, “Goodbye World”!
I will miss your BIG smile and your smart mouth- LOL!
I will remember your positivity in your journey with ALS and your faith that got you thru each day.
You will be missed!
Fly high Angel. . . . You are 100% healed now! You are in God’s hands.
Hi Sissy!
You’re riding shot gun with me today. Anyone who knows me is surely thinking you were crazy for letting me pick you up. Remember spilled deviled eggs on Thanksgiving? 😳
I miss you terribly and my heart will never be the same! Ever!! Such an honor to be your big sissy, wish I could have protected you from this awful disease!
Give Grandpa a hug for me. Ride free on the horses that are there with you. You and Jods can debate – Jack Daniels or Patron.
Send Havs and I those birdies and warm breezes and butterflies too! I’ll be in the refuge missing you.
I love you so much my beautiful sissy!
My deepest condolences to Tammy’s family. I am blessed to have gotten to know you and your family over the years. I will miss having life conversations with you when you were picking up hay at out farm.
Godspeed Tammy
I met Tammy while working as a CNA she taught me how to care with so much love. We got to know each other through our shared interest in horses and sharing fun memories and laughing. She was calm, sweet, compassionate, loving the perfect teacher and the best kind of company. It was a gift to know Tammy.
Tammy I will always remember your laugh and your smart mouth!! I was happy we reconnected recently and were able to talk. You’re with the angels now. No more pain or struggles. Love you! Beth Oleen
