Lawrence “Larry” Theede, Jr., age 67, from Bethel, died February 3, 2026 at home. Celebration of life gathering will be held from 12-3 on Sunday, February 15th at Hidden Haven Golf Club in Cedar.
Lawrence “Larry” Joseph Theede, Jr. was born January 12, 1959 in Canby, Minnesota to Lawrence and Lourell (Jewett) Theede. He was raised and attended school in Elkton, South Dakota. Larry met his loving wife, JoAnn, in 1980 and spent 42 years wed. Larry worked as a trucker, business owner and mechanic most of his life. He loved spending time watching Nascar and Minnesota sports. He loved the great outdoors, fishing, hunting and being on the water.
Larry was a good friend to everyone he met. He had many great trips with his friends, fishing and to Nascar races. He is remembered for his sense of humor, humility and having a nickname for everyone.
Larry passed away February 3, 2026 at home in Bethel at age 67 after a long battle with illness. He was a private man and his family’s only wish is that he has found peace and comfort. He was preceded in death by his parents and by an infant sister, Catherine. He is survived by his wife, Joann; children, Jay Theede, Jen (Rich) Raborn and Kati Theede (Brandon McGrath) Dustin and Dallas Shearer; grandchildren, Octavia, Ariana and Gage; brother, David (Linda) Theede; sisters, Jean (Ron) Renken and Vicki (Herb) Theede; and by other relatives and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Love you, Larry, you’ll be missed a lot! Thinking of you, Jay and Jo Ann, family and friends. Sending good thoughts. Enjoy the good memories!
We enjoyed the time we spent with Larry after meeting him through his wonderful daughter Kati, who has become a great addition to our family. We share in the comfort of knowing that he is now at peace and in your family’s grief during this difficult time. With hopes that memories of Larry in good times and good health will help you overcome during the days, months and years to come. No one can replace the void of losing such a special family member.
