
Deborah Rae (Lofboom) McGivern, age 63, of Cambridge passed away March 25, 2026 at Birchwood Healthcare Center in Forest Lake. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 25th at Fish Lake Lutheran Church in Harris. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials to Fish Lake Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
Deborah Rae McGivern was born at the Cambridge Hospital on September 12, 1962 to Dennis and Nola (Hawkinson) Lofboom. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1981 and then attended the University of Minnesota – Crookston where she was the Culinary program and graduated in 1984. While in high school she worked at The Lowell Inn in Stillwater for 5 years until 1982. Her college roommate asked her to come to Scottsdale, AZ for a visit and she applied for a job at the Scottsdale Hospital and moved down there to pursue her career. While there she met the love of her life, John “Hap” McGivern and they were married on June 24, 1994. John preceded her in death in 2016 and her special dog, Saydee.
Deb had many hobbies, cross-stitch, crocheting and knitting and scrap-booking. She made many books for special people. Debbie had many health problem all stemming from her life living with Lupus. She never let it get her down and went on valiantly throughout her life.
Debbie went into the loving arms of her Savior on March 25, 2026 at Birchwood Healthcare Center in Forest Lake at the age of 63 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Hap” McGivern; father, Dennis Lofboom; brother, Terrance Lofboom; grandparents, Elof and Olive Lofboom and Olga Hawkinson; father-in-law, Jack McGivern; aunt, Jan Lofboom.
Debbie is survived by her loving mother, Nola (Hawkinson) Lofboom; brother, Dan Lofboom; nieces, Alexandra Lofboom and Elizabeth Andrews; step son, Dustin Sztek; mother-in-law, Jan McGivern; sister-in-law, Jill (Todd) Myrick; uncles, Rick (Debra) Lofboom, Tom (Anne) Lofboom, Jim Saari; aunt, Mary (Tony) Deets; and many cousins, other relatives and friends.
