In Memory of Ron Schlipp

Ron R. Schlipp, age 65, of Center City passed away unexpectedly at home June 4, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 11th at Strike Life Tributes in ISANTI. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in North Branch Township at a later date.

Ronald Robert Schlipp was born July 11, 1960, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Walter and Lydia (Elmstrand) Schlipp. He was raised in Cambridge and attended Cambridge High School. Ron continued his education at NEI College of Technology in Minneapolis before serving in the U.S. Navy. While stationed in Tokyo, Japan, Ron met Akiko. She returned to the United States with him, and they were married, eventually settling in Center City and raising two children together. Years later, Ron found love again when reunited with Teri Cooper, a former acquaintance, and they shared their lives together until her passing in 2017.

To those who knew him, Ron was a man defined by his brilliant mind and his distinct passions. His deep understanding of electronics fed into his lifelong love for music. He didn’t just listen to music; he experienced it. Ron was a connoisseur of progressive rock, and it was always best enjoyed spun on the highest-quality audio equipment, where every complex rhythm could be heard exactly as intended.

When he wasn’t immersed in high-fidelity sound, Ron loved the freedom of the open road, finding peace while riding his motorcycle. Yet, he also deeply appreciated the quieter moments of nature. He had a passion for birds of all species — particularly chickens, a fascination that began as a young boy and continued throughout his life. He found immense joy and entertainment in their individual characters.

Ron passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2026, at home.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Debra.

Ron is survived by his children, Elisha (Garret) Franko, and Viktor Schlipp (Sam Langiewicz); brothers, Vernon (Betty) Schlipp, Arlan (Dawn) Schlipp, and Allen Schlipp; sisters, Charlotte Marquart, Gwen Leaf, and Doreen (Dean) Doble; grandchildren, Skyy Johnson and Blu, aka Mason, Johnson; and by other relatives and friends.
