Mark A. Schmidt, age 54, of North Branch passed away July 16, 2026 at home. A private memorial service will be held.
Mark Alan Schmidt was born January 14th, 1972 to Robert and Nancy Schmidt in St. Paul, MN.
On August 24th, 1990, he married Lisa Frauendienst at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch. They moved to Cambridge and lived there for 6 years before moving back to North Branch. Out of this marriage, Mark and Lisa had 3 children and were later blessed to have a 3rd son join the family.
Mark worked as a plumber for 11 years before retiring in 2006. He then earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and worked in computer forensics from 2010-2019.
One of his greatest hobbies was writing songs. Mark was good at getting any piece of equipment stuck. He adored spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nancy Schmidt.
Mark is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lisa; daughter, Nicole (Josh) Yeats of Long Prairie, MN; sons, Matthew Schmidt of North Branch, MN, Lucas (Kaylyn) Schmidt of North Branch, MN, and Dalton Bursaw of Pine City, MN; grandchildren, Monroe and Aliyah; sister, Karin Storlien of Arles, France and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
